Lately,i accept a file from my friend in msn. Thinking that the photo was taken sometime ago and he was sending me.

Unfortunately it wasnt the case. IT's virus. Anyidea how to cure?I run my virus scan.nth was detected.It prove the virus is of higher level.

Will reformat help? Now my msn will also send the file to my file,using my trust (as msn contact are one whom u know) to send to other.

HELP~

Anyone also tio the virus? i was told more and more people are getting it in singapore.

Two years ago, the IT experts announced that sooner or later, virus would be able to attach itself to graphic file by means of inserting virus coding hiding together with the root file or in layman, e.g desciption information attached in the graphic file which is transparant to user. Finally, they hit the shore sooner than what we expected and for sure, they are no longer safe to be virus-free

No doubt this is a terrible virus but I would like to point out two things:

1. This is not a virus inserted into a graphics file. It is just named Photo Album with a zip extension.

2. The auto sending of viruses to your friends is also not new. In fact, it is the most common way viruses are spread these days.

As for now,the virus is still there. But the core,or rather the brain of the virus is destroyed. Or perhaps she went to sleep!

So beware ya. Alot of my frend or his or her frend frend kanna too!

Kaspersky might be able to clean it completely.

the best way guaranteed is to re-install.... lol... i would do that if i would be the one...

i remember last time got a few sites can go online to scan.. cant remember the sites offhand now...

cos its really scary and easy to caught off guard..

simply by looking at a picture, the virus is already creating havoc..



anyway.. if really cant remove.. the safest bet is to reinstall..
ya.. its a painful process.. but that's the best solution actually.. done so before too.. not once, not twice, forget already..

well.. don't you find it strange when they say album?
when i got the zip file.. it's just 1 file! and plus it's in .pif which i don't know what the heck it is.. so i did not open.. i just delete the shit away.. and lucky enough i'm not infected 'yet'..

But what amazed me was that.. the virus did actually changes phrases when sending files like.. 'hey i did a photo album for this activity!' , 'Want my Photos? DL now! There's a photo of me nude inside too!' hahahaha.. too bad.. the nude is from a guy..

anyway for those who got struck.. i heard that this worm actually collects banking information from your pc.. soo.. DO SOMETHING ABT YOUR CARDS!! best is to replace new ones from the bank.. Prevention is always Better than Cure!

1 less tedious way is to partition or to have separate hard disk, installing OS in one partition or i harddisk and data in another. At least, I would say less work when ones has to reinstall everything
