KJC passed me a loan set of the new iTech new product called i.VoicePRO for review. For those who work in noisy environment this new noise-filtering dual microphone Bluetooth Headset may be what you need. They come in three nice colors - piano black, titanium and burgundy red. The loan set I am reviewing is the nice metallic titanium colored one.
Symphony
The i.VoicePRO comes in a nice black box packaging unlike the cylindrical tubes for other iTech products. It is now easier to pack and keep the items.
Symphony
The package includes:

1. The headset unit
2. The manual
3. A USB charging cable
4. The ac/dc charging adaptor

See photo. I have put a UHU gluestick beside the headset to give an idea of its relatively small size.
Symphony
The headset unit has only a few buttons
1. A MultiFunction button (MFB) - on/off
2. A Noise Filtering switch - to filter noise in a noisy environment just press this button and the other party will hear you clearly. It can filter/cut off up to 80 % of noises. I will test it later in Suntec City PC Show which will be noisy enough.
3. A Volume Button
It also comes with a nice comfortable-to-wear metal ear-hook which is detachable.
Bonding is very easy, just press the MFB button and hold until flash blue/red alternatively. Passkey is 0000 instead of 8888 like the Clip series.
Symphony
The i.VoicePRO is sold at KJC's Booth at PC Show for S$128 with a free car charger. If you are a PPCSG member, identify yourself and you can get another S$10 discount.
Tristan
I went to try out the iTech i.VoicePRO yesterday. The noise cancelling function is really amazing!!! BTW the sales guy told me that a lanyard is also provided.

Yup, a lanyard for i.VoicePRO was also provided. Tested it on the noisy MRT train and at the crowded PC Show today. I called my son, a colleague and my daughter, they said they can hear me clearly. Not bad. When a call comes the headset buzzer will sound, just press the MFB button to answer call. To call out you need not press any button on the headset.

Sorry, I need to rectify the note about about the usage of the Noise Filtering switch/button - KJC clarified with me that by default the Noise Filtering is always ON when you use the headset. That Noise Filtering button when press will OFF and not ON the Noise Filtering function. It is actually there more for demo purpose to convince the user that when he OFF the Noise Filtering by pressing that button, in a noisy environment the other party cannot hear him properly. wub.gif

A better clearer photo shot of the headset and the ear-clip. This headset's built quality and finishing is quite good. Charging us through a micro-USB port at the tip of the headset. Battery life seems good as I used it almost whole day, it also supports EDR energy saving BT transfer.

Hi Bro Symphony,
Since it comes with lanyard, does the BT headset have a vibrating alert besides the usual buzzer? This is if one is always wearing the lanyard and dislike hooking on the headset on the ear!
Thanks

Sorry, I don't think it has vibrator.
Symphony
Sorry, forgot to mention that the iTech i.VoicePRO is Multi-point capable of connecting to two phones at same time. There are also two microphones on it, one in front and one at the tip for better voice pickup.
WE Sim
I tested the i.VoicePRO with my watch phone at the PC SHOW and it was a failure

Drop connection a couple of times just standing there. Wonder what would happen if you're walking and swinging your arm? For driving would be ok but not wearing it and walking around as the headset is long. Half the length would be nicer.

Drop connection could be due to your phone watch. Mine was connected to my iPAQ 6818, no connection drop for the 4-5 hours I was using it on that day when i was in PC Show and back. grin.gif

Size at least smaller than normal Jawbone, it is not really big at all. Anyway you can wear it with a lanyard if you do not want to hook to ear. There is a buzzer to alert you of a call.

If my SAMSUNG WEP500 don't drop connection why must the i.VoicePO dropped connection?

I think it's the bt implementation that counts whistle.gif

Most of us here are using it with WMPhone not BT watch, so it is not an issue for us.
The connection with my iPAQ 6818 was very very stable continuously for hours.
Symphony
If you missed the PC Show, fret not. Singtel Hello Shops will be selling the iTech i.VoicePro exclusively at S$128 with a 15% discount during the Great Singapore Sales Period. That means you pay only S$108.80. A good price for a great BT Headset with advanced noise filtering algorithms and dual microphone. grin.gif
nicepal
well well.. this does looks cool with the noise reduction. with the i voice pro & bluepointer, very diff to decide which to buy. Though I don't frequently use laser pointer. only useful when I need it;> stylo too.

but with ivoicepro. no other voice. this is cool....

nicepal
wow. tempted already. Will be going to singtel to see. if the price is what bro SYmphony mentioned, then Mai Tu already.
zenkinz
looks interesting, couple by the interesting video.

but the thing that puts over the ear, looks very filmsy and cheapsake... so typical of i-tech product, unfortunately (Sorry if that offends anybody)
dinkydong
The most important Qs is how well the noise cancelling feature works?? Does it work well in different noisy environments? Anyone purchased a unit? Appreciate some feedback thks!
nicepal
went to singtel bugis yesterday night. They said they don't carry that product in that outlet ;(
15% discount on accessories is true though.

so far bro symphony hv gave some feedback. furthermore, i feel it is gd at only "Noise filtering", i doubt it can block "strong wind". how many other brand can do noise filtering at S$128?
dinkydong
Some BT headsets are better in reducing wind noise.. eg:

1) Plantronics Voyager 510

2) Jabra BT8040

3) Jabra BT5020

All within the budget FYI. grin.gif

well guys. couldn't resist and went to buy the ivoice pro from itech TPY this evening. only tried while driving back.

Tested calling my wife with my car radio ON, she can hear me clearly and I can hear her clear. With my previous V3, I got to lower or off the radio. And turn away the Aircon from blowing into the earpiece, tonight, I just talk wihout doing anything, my wife can hear me well.

Haven't tried using it at outdoor yet though.

I did notice that the sound from the Ivoice pro is a bit "Choky or cloudy". Can hear clearly though. Somehow, quite hard to describe. ;>

Once I tested outdoor, I will post more. The guy selling said his boss tried in disco and still can hear the caller, can you all believe this?
dinkydong
Great to hear u've finally purchased a unit. Looking forward to yr outdoor test results. What do u mean by choky, does yr voice gets clipped such that the caller ends up hearing bits or does yr voice gets distorted? One thing to try is to use it on a noisy MRT or bus. Also, u can try using it in a semi-noisy places like food courts and walking along the roads.

Thanks for feedback. Pls check further. We can feedback to KJC, iTech can improve and update firmware if necessary.
nicepal
;) sure i will try to try to the max if I have the time & opportunity. Long time never take MRT or Bus since I gt my Car ;). will try out somehow if chance comes by.
Left it in the car today, maybe later I will go take it and use it at my workplace if got chance, else will use it at office tomorrow.

Will update guys if I manage to test it at
1) MRT/Bus
2) Food Court/Eating Place
3) Walking along the road
4) Work Place's workshop

Do bear with me if the test come late, to be frank, seldom people call me, mostly my wife or my customer when they have problems (touch wood) ;>.

1 thing to add, I still need some time to get use to the earhook, cn't gt use to it yet. Currently when I do it at a normal slow pace, I take an average of 2~3sec to put it on.

When speaking, I only need to talk as per normal volume. Tried speaking softer, can't seems to work. But definitely no nd to scream.

bro dinkydong, not cholky as in can't hear, the other party can hear me clearly. Just that when I hear my wife's voice, not "very original", like abit speak through the computer and toned slightly heavier. She still can hear me talk and can hear the car's radio too.

update all again, going for my lunch. ;>
nicepal
Tried at few places ( items re arraged to ease adding of new test place ;>)

1) driving in car
a) first day after purchased, called wife - ok
b) called customer with my car radio on at my normal volume while driving (SONY player with sound level III) - ok

2) Food Court/Eating Place
a) tried kopi shop near my house at ard 9+pm - ok

3) Work Place's workshop
a) Outside factory, watching packer packing machine - ok
b) walking along in office workshop - ok
c) machine running, stand beside with the machine's suction turns ON (this vacuum generation will result hissing sound) - ok

4) MRT/Bus
5) Walking along the road

note :
1) test result pairing Ivoice Pro to IPhone 8GB (firmware 1.1.4)
2) when speaking, I need to talk in normal voice level and not whispering, but no need to shout

hope to add on more soon.
Symphony
Thanks. Great feedback.
dinkydong
Thanks for the update! Looking forward to reading about the rest of your tests grin.gif

tried wearing it on my ears from abt 430pm till 9pm today. Does feel the top of the ear a bit painful. Maybe my ear's shape doesn't match the earpiece holder. other part of the ear feel ok but the "Tip" of it does feel bit of pitching pt pain if wear for too long.

Battery life wise. Fully charge on Friday night.
Sat & Sun = total abt 8 hrs
Mon to Wed = abt 12 hrs per day.
total ON time = 44 hrs
total TALK time = abt 40mins.

dn't mentioned it, bro Symphony. You guys gave me more feedbacks for some other device.

I have no chance to use it at disco though, like the shop salesman mentioned. ;>
IMHO, at S$128, quite ex though, but as I seldom use the display of my previous V3 (which I bought at S$138) & I also dn't think I will use AD2P. so it's quite ok for me. will update when I have the chance.

just got one yesterday. it works as said however the listening vol can be improved. a bit too soft for my liking even at max.

Sorry to hear this. blink.gif Will feedback to to KJC.
Symphony
Good News,

KJC ask me to inform the VoicePro users here that that we have a new software that could be upgraded at their customer care centre. This will increase the listening volume. Just bring along the warranty card and proof of purchase.

Further to that, KJC will be participating in the Cats Car-nival show oraganised by SPH on this coming Sunday ( 13 July) @ Singapore Expo Hall 4 booth A4. Theywill be offering all Bluetooth at special price. For the i.VoicePRO, we will be selling at $128 and free NTUC voucher worth $30.
nicepal
wow. then i "buai song" already. I also bought it at $128, w/o voucher somemore. sad.;(

For me, the Volume is ok. Thus I am not sure if it was the phone or the BT issue. For me, the loudest I can go is too loud in fact. Just want to feedback is that, as the BT only have 4 steps, sometimes per step has a big difference (like 4 steps in phone) in the volume setting. Thus I normally use the volume control on my phone instead.

so far so gd for me, I have been using for 2 weeks in office. Shiok la.

For me, battery life is about 5~6 days if Turn ON about 12 hrs a day. Plus my usage time.
