You can pick up the original Samsung USB cable from any of the service centres, i think.

Just to tag on this thread, anyone knows where to get a 3rd party 3.5mm audio adaptor for this phone?

I did my i780 upgrade on Monday, at the sametime was asking about the USB cable, the counter personnel brought out the older version, I told her that is not the correct one, and she was shocked and told me that is the only one they have in the service center.

I wrote to the Samsung Singaproe and was told to go to Toh Guan service to buy, but must call before going down. Didn't bother to do so.

it was available at the Tampines Service Centre.

For the audio converter, it is not available yet at SLS 2 weeks back.

I believe this adaptor is to plug in your standard headphones.
If I recall cxorrectly, other Samsung models like F330 comes with adaptor.
Maybe because it's a music phone.

Buy bluetooth dongle instead. Can use for any bluetooth enabled phone.
Been using bluetooth to syn with my laptop at work and leaving the usb cable at home.

The original sync cable wouldn't charge despite using different cigarette light-to-USB adaptors: I had tested it with a Belkin one as well as a MobileGear one.

This McKal one will save me some hassle then.

On another note, for other forum readers here, if you are interested in getting an original USB cable (PC-to-PDA), it's about $12.

I got mine at a Samsung service centre. Leave one at home and one in office, no need to keep remembering to pack it in!

I thought the USB sync cable provided with in the box charges the phone as well? Am I mistaken? When i hook it up to m laptop, the battery sign show it is charging.

it shows charging but it charges very very slowly... 4 hours into the charging and it can't charge till its full... Not efficient enough

Thanks for the information. No that explains why my phone charge does not seem to increase even though after some time of charging via USB port using the cable provided in the box.

Does that mean that the Mckal cable will charge the phone faster? Saw in another post, somebody bought the mini sync cable from boxwave. They have the same function? Real new to this.

I just got this from Popular bookstore at Toa Payoh HDB Hub ... it cost $12.90 ... however do take note that you need to trim the side of the connector in order for the cable to be able to plugged into the i780....
Now trying to charge.... will report results later....

To add to my earlier post.... I got back to office at 1.30pm.... battery was 60-70% ...after 1 hour... its now 100%.... This is much much better than the original USB cable that comes with the phone in terms of charging the phone... too bad this dosen't support data sync...

Amanzingly.... after 2 hours my LED turns to green... 1st time I see it turn green as it never happens when I was previously trying to charge it with my original usb cable....

I didn't trim the side of the connector. Just push it firmly ... it may press the connector cover alittle but it won't damage it...

to sync.. just connect to your desktop via bluetooth.

can still charge much much faster than if you were to use sync+data cable (which doesn't move at all )

Tried charging my phone today with the McKal USB cable.
Took 2.5hrs from 20% to full charge. Not bad.

was at vivo today.. the pk computer has stock ... any one interested can go there and buy it
