Here's some more:

Garmin XT.
Google Map.
Resco Explorer with FTP and Registry Plugins (I don't use the today plugin).

Would like to provide more feedback but my unit is giving me problems. Everytime I have installed a programme and reset the unit, my cprog.exe goes haywire and I can get a network connection :( Anyone with similar problems?

A question: do you also run RealVGA? I'm wondering if PointUI works well at 96dpi on the i780. And do you think the screen size and shape (square) fits with the functionality and design of PointUI? I've only seen videos of it running on 320x240 devices...

Nope i don't use RealVGA right now. I prefer my fonts bigger grin.gif Yup it works perfectly in square screen size no problem at all. Its so much easier to go to your applications using PointUI.

Actually I tried it before with RealVGA installed and it works perfectly. But I installed RealVGA first before PointUI. So I believe you want have any problem with it grin.gif

Look for the Application UpdateManager.exe It can be found under \Program Files\PointUI\Update Manager\1.0a. Then follow the ff. steps:

1.) Just press the X button when its trying to look for an update.
2.) Click PointUI Produts->Home->1.02b Free
3.) Click Uninstall grin.gif

I am not trying to a meanie. But the purpose of this thread is to put a list of compatible software for I780. And not individual list, so if you guy don't mind, just add on to the list. It is much easy to see and more effective.

No offend to tyrex. Just hope to make this thread as "clean" as possible.

Hi guys,

If we look at the topic it says compatible, which to me means out of the box, no RealVGA or other substitute hacks or programmes to get it to work, cause with RealVGA I believe many more programmes will run with it's adjusted dpi and screen resolution settings.

My 2 cents worth in this thread.

Thanks all.

I believe its 240x320. Yes, it does not totally cover the whole screen but at least the coordinates are right when you use the stylus to move the plane grin.gif So no problem on my part.

Hi, just bought a i780 too and was sooooo happy to see so many applications that are compatible. I downloaded VITA SMS Chat but on my trial version, the SMSes are not sorted out such that the latest messages are placed first. In fact, the order is such that the latest messages are furthest down the list. The other thing is that I don't seem to be able to scroll up and down. Hence if the list is longer than there is space on the screen, I cannot access the earliest messages. Does anyone know how to navigate within the SMS chat tool? unsure.gif

hi all
can anyone explain for me the function of the realvga software ? why most of i780 owners say that u should install the realvga software to make programs work ?
is it really important to install this software for 3rd party softwares ? i mean, can i run 3rd party softwares without it ?

basically realvga changes the dpi (dots per inch) of the screen. so that u can see more!

Hi All,

I'm also concern about this issue...so sorry if i have a query instead.

Does anyone knows any application that perform the functions below that is working with Samsung i780?
1. Chinese writing recognition (both simplified and traditional)
2. Chinese dictionary (both simplified and traditional)
3. Chinese Lunar Calendar (if it has organizer added value would be perfect)

My deeply thanks in advance.
