Dear i780 users, please try out ultimate launcher. It is highly customizable and Im sure everyone will like it cos myself had spent hours and hours playing with it to create the ideal Home theme. For me it works great with realvga 96dpi and it should work on 128dpi as well as all tabs size can be adjusted! More info in the 2 links below.

Scrabble works with the square version but the graphic is a bit pixellated. The letters on the board are a bit small and may put you off :-)

PS Without RealVGA

Help with PointUI Home.

Hi guys, a newbie here at PPCSG.

I just got the Samsung i780, and think that the UI is really not very fantastic...

Saw the PointUI Home... fell in love with it immediately.

But problem is screen orientation.

Basically, the screen is in the landscape mode, while the buttons are in the portrait orientation.

Anyone can help me make it so that the screen is in portrait mode too?

Pls help...

Use 1.5a, not 1.51a for pointui.

Sorry for the silly question. I am new to PPC's and Windows Mobile... Only ever used Symbian..

Just looking at the SpB Software (Mobile Shell and Pocket Plus) for my I780
All the software have "Download" tab and a "Purchase" tab???

When you click "Download" Are you just downloading a trial? Do you have "Purchase" for the FULL software?

thanks..

Hey peoples..

Im having trouble installing realVGA.. I got it from XDA (only place I could find it)

I install the main file.. Then I go on to install the 128, then 96dpi parts..

128 installs.. But when I install 96dpi, it advises me that it is missing files and cannot complete the installation??

Any ideas?

Hi there. Understand your predicament.

Try downploading the 1.5a version as advised by x9745.

For your convenience, here is the link. See the last posting for the link. Click on the link and download it. Copy the compressed file directly into your i780, and run from the phone.

This should work just fine. Enjoy.

yes you need realvga to run, and you also need to copy the 320x320 theme otherwise it won't run properly...

just quick check, do you know which xml I should be changing so that I can use my left/right softkey to navigate from tab to tab. I do like the idea of using the softkey to change windows within a tab, but I was hoping that I can also use it to change tab as well so that I can totally use my softkey to navigate around.

e.g. at home tab, right softkey change from digital to analogue clock, another right softkey would change to the next tab, since there's no more page to show within the home page (instead of recycling to the first page of the tab)

just to save you the pain of scrolling through the entire 20 odd pages to find the Diamond theme

it can be downloaded from here. You do need to apply a patch to this theme after installing the theme due to some layout bug. You can get it from this post

first make sure you have RealVGA installed. If you do not know how, download the files from here. You need the 96DPI resource pack and the realVGA program. Install the resource pack first, follow by realVGA, afterwhich you run realVGA to select 96dpi.

Then install SPB Mobile shell 2.1. You can download the CAB file from SPB website. Do not run anything yet.

Then you unzip the theme files that you have downloaded earlier, and manually copy all of them to the folder \Program Files\SPB Mobile Shell. Then do a soft reset and run SPB menu it'll show the SPB Mobile Shell Now Screen...

Hi,

Wisbar Advance 3.2c is now compatible with 320x320 devices and that includes Samsung i780. Not as fancy as some other launchers but it gives you a clean and lean Today look and yet you are able to access to a whole list of applications without leaving the Today screen.

Ddeath
Forgot to mention something about spb mobile shell. To make the shell launch automatically everytime you go to Today, install SpbWatcher. Else you will need to launch it manually everytime you go to Today page. :)
zenkinz
ppclink's hinavigator is a decent no frill Today launcher + home plugin. works well on my i780.
