I am completely new to PDA style phones, so please excuse my ignorance .... I have used the search function here , but cant find a solution ....confused.gif

I recently inherited an old O2 XDA Mini 2 from a relative and I have worked out most of the functions and so forth from the PDA Instruction Manual from the O2 website, but I cant seem to get any videos to play on the device.

I have tried several 'conversion' programs to change the vids from avi to mpeg4 etc , but the videos either dont show up on the storage card or wont play in WMP. Mp3's play ok from the storage card.

Is there a program that someone could recommend to convert vids .... or am I doing something else wrong.

The device has Windows 2003 os .... thanks in advance if someone can help me ....

You can utilise SUPER converter, freeware, thumbs up from me.

A great player to use to play videos would be the TCPMP player, you can download the CAB file from HERE. Transfer the whole CAB file in which you have downloaded to your device without unrar-ing/un-zipping it to any location in your device and tap to launch to install from there to your storaga card.

Thanks for that Imf :]

I am having a problem with 'SUPER' though ....

When I start to encode I get this error window .... :

"SUPER has detected some software incompatabilities, therefore, some features CANNOT work or may cause serious encoding errors.

The Direct Video or Audio Stram Copy CANNOT run correctly on this PC, neither the encoding of .TS/.M2T HDTV Transport Stream files .... "

Would this be because I have 64bit Vista Ultimate .... ?

Welcome...

Am using XP not Vista therefore cant advise you on that, maybe others here who are using Vista and have successfully done the conversions can advise you on that.

Another software you can try is Spb Mobile DVD, its Vista compatible.

Thanks for that dude ...

Now I am having trouble getting the device to accept the mpeg4 converted videos ... ?

When I try to drag the file onto the storage card the error window says that the file is not supported for use on the device iteslf, and if possible to use a media program to convert the file before copying it .... ?

Sorry about this but as I said I have no idea about this stuff .... he hehe

Ensure your device is properly connected via Activesync and then try to transfer, ensuring the file name aint is chinese. If fail to do so maybe you can transfer using a card holder, sometimes its due to the file size being too big, there is a limit to how big a file Activesync can transfer.

Well it will copy to the storage card but it says that the file is not supported by the device itself .... eg: it will store the file but it wont show up in the media players on the device so ya can play it ...... ??

Try to use the TCPMP player that i have recommended you to play the MPEG4 files bro.
