As reported by
theunwired MWg (formerly known as O2 Asia) and a UK-based developer of wireless power technology Splashpower Ltd. has signed an agreement that will enable MWg devices to be powered wirelessly... Cool! However, as stated on the unwired, hope the devices offered by MWg will also included a USB port for charging if not hassles will be inevitable, aint sure whether i wanna carry a wireless cradle charger around, adding weight to my everyday load.

If the large induction cradle is used & it is still wired, still not much use. Many camera, mp3 players and pda etc also can just plug into a cradle for charging...so not much difference.
If we just need to plug a small wireless charging adaptor into a socket or USB port, then the WM device will be charged wirelessly through it through some kind of waves, it makes more sense.

Perhaps this contactless charging pad will prevent potential damages to a charging port if a device was to charge conventionally?

Cool technology, but I hope some other companies/providers (with a better reputation) jumps along on the bandwagon. MWG (aka o2) has lost my vote ages ago.
