As reported by the::unwired, Microsoft gave Mobius 2007 attendees a sneak peak at the soon-to-be release update for the current Windows Mobile 6 operating system and no its not the Photon aka Windows Mobile 7 we are talking about here but just enhancements and slight changes to the existing one. Supposely to be ready for the public Q1 of 2008, do not expect anything major to the update, lets just all anticipate then. grin.gif

Thanks bro for news. MS' relentless pursuit of progress is laudable. grin.gif
I am still languishing on WM5 tho. cry.gif

As mentioned the update would not be that fantastic actually, but will see what Micrsoft have to offer, waiting for more updates from them.

Regardless of WM5 or WM6 as long as you love it can already! I embraced my WM2003e device for 2 years plus bro and still playing with it once a while now grin.gif

I love my iPAQ 6818 except that it has no GPS and Wifi which is lamentable. Otherwise it is small and handy.

But you configured your 6818 bro!

Too bad i believe the update is for Windows Mobile 6 users only and not all current device would be given the privilege.

This release version will be Windows Mobile 6.1 there are quite a few welcome udpates that are sure to please the Windows Mobile Professional and Standard users out there.

Photon is still sometime out, but this latest 6.1 update is quite solid, I am looking forward to it.

understand there's some solid messaging function that are missing today, and although it's not a big breakthrough (since some OEM had it through their own customization) but it's good that these become part of the OS instead of third party software.

Is this only applicable to smartphone? I may be wrong, but I got the impression that the main featuere of this release is to allow microsoft office editing, which is what Pocket PC phone and Pocket PC could do all along. Only smartphone was not able to do it.
