Does anybody knows how to remove the rotation and bluetooth shortcut. Its not one of the today plugin item. Please teach me how to remove it. I take up space in my today screen.

Did u install any software like BatteryStatus or Wisbar Advanced 3 that enables the traylaunch? If yes, u can go to the program's options and uncheck traylaunch.

This is the factory default for xda zinc. It already there by default. So i'm thinking how can i disable this, by editing registry or some other way.

I did not install BatteryStatus or Wisbar Advanced 3.

I went to \Windows\Startup and found some lnk file. But they have nothing to do with this.

Do you have this registry value:
HKLM\init\Launch92=TrayAp.exe

If yes, try replacing it with:
HKLM\init\Launch92=

It worked on my friend's O2 device. Can't remember what model it was.

Try to google on how to remove the today plugin but cannot find any leads.

I manage to remove the bluetooth icon in system tray.

To remove bluetooth icon in system tray:
HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\UserInterface\TrayIcon = 0

Now left one more to go. How to remove the screen rotate? Anybody know which registry key to edit?

try the following:

HKLM\system\GDI\rotation\HideOrientationUI = 1

If that doesn't work, you can try:

HKLM\services\screenrotate = 0

I went to xda forum and did a search.

They suggested the same solution as you. But there is no such keys in XDA Zinc.

I found nothing related to remove the screen rotation icon in HKLM\init
There is no init_tray in \Windows\Startup.
No system tray in registry.

I still cannot find a solution to removing the screen rotation icon.
This is so frustrating.

I got a screen rotation removal CAB file...I dont know will it work on your device but if you want to try, I can pass it to you...just PM me your email address to send it will do...

but before you try, please backup your device first...

finally found a solution to this:

set the following key to this value to remove the rotation and bluetooth icon in the system tray. After the two icons are remove, the system will be removed as well.

HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\UserInterface\TrayIcon = 0
HKLM\Services\ACS\RotationTray = 0

Can I ask if anyone knows how to remove the Comms Manager icon on the bottom right of the Today screen? It's also another plugin...

how about removing the "time" and the 'sound icon' in the taskbar? Now i'm using HTC Home Plugin and it already have a clock and i dont need the one on the taskbar anymore. pls help??? thanks!
