With all the buzz revolving around the HTC TyTN II lets direct our attention to the HTC Shift, another device that deserve our attention.

Here's a vid showing the HTC Shift and its SnapVUE, which is a modified version of Windows Mobile. grin.gif

theunwired also has more updated pictures of this titan of a device, nice to see nice to look but nice to own one? We shall see... grin.gif

Was tempted to buy this... but this come without GPS... so i think still go for kaiser...
Anyway this cool thing cost more than a laptop. don't think gonna worth it. unless its fall below 1.5k cat

Too bulky. I did get my hand on Dopod U1000 and don't like it bulkiness. Therefore, I don't think this is going to go well also. If going to carry this, might as well get a notebook of similar size and weight. You have full desktop Windows (XP or Vista) instead of Windows Mobile. You can fix in a 3G/GSM card and you can get similar function.

By the way, it looks like a Vista instead of WM to me and I heard the demostrator mentioned Vista. Is it Vista or WM.

Anyway, that is a bad demo. He is doing discredit to the product.

Its 2 OS, Windows Vista and SnapVUE(a strip down version of WM) running on 2 different processor.

The HTC Shift is not marketed as a PDA device, it is more of a wireless mini-laptop/UPMC variant with some nifty added features.

It is good for people on the move, busy execs, insurance people whom meets clients and need a easy to carry around device, ready to use type.

Down side is that it is a little pricy to my liking.

Yeah but it was originally schedule for 3Q07 release. It is already 1 month into 4Q07 no news of its release anywhere in the world yet.

I'm waiting to know the price actually. I'm on the move all the time so this will be enuff for me.
