hi cyberbaby... good to hear that you have successfully installed the fontpatch and can read chinese now. Next download the ZTA4 software from the link in the first post by starch, copy it to your storage card using USB and install it to your device memory (mandatory). Soft reset and you should be able to write in chinese by selecting the ZTA4 text input from the keyboard selections... Good Luck and Enjoy!

hehe... it is the SAME FONT (sunglobe) lah cyberbaby.. People are using these to buying a legal copy of CE Star or to save some storage memory. Another reason is the nicer pinyin text input interface. There is another chinese SIP called China FEP ( I think) which also has a handwriting feature if you are interested..

Hi vinmui,
First of all what device are u using? Pardon me if i you've mentioned and i have forgotten.
Which 2 files are u referring to? Well firstly and actually you can install the chinese fontpatch from trendsmobile
HERE, after u do so power off for 15s, power on and soft reset.
If you are using a Pocket PC Phone QWERTY version download the SIP
HEREFor Pocket PC Phone touch screen version download the QVGA/VGA version
HERE.
You will see
版本信息:ZTA4.v2.0.14 QVGA版下载 | ZTA4.v2.0.17 VGA版下载, just click according on QVGA/VGA.
After you have downloaded the CAB file just transfer it via Activesync to your device and install it in your MAIN memory, allow the process to complete and then soft reset again, you should be able to get the A4 sip entry now, works fine for my Windows Mobile 6 Advantage.

Bro, what the diff between QVGA and VGA version ?
lmf2501
Sep 6 2007, 10:59 PM
QVGA (240 by 320, 96 DPI)
VGA (480 by 640, 192 DPI)
VGA screens are normally bigger compared to QVGA, refer to the U1000 and Dopod 900, others like the O2 Atom Life and Dopod D810 etc are QVGA... So what are you?

Since O2 Zinc has a QWERTY keyboard it should work, it states 838 in the website because it was the device that it was tested on... Don't worry bro it would not go to the extend of crashing your device, if you aint comfortable with it you can always uninstall it from your device which i did so for the earlier version.

Yes, it does co-exist. But in my opinion. you'll be better off using either one only as the memory footprint/overhead will be lesser than with the 2 combined.
Perhaps you could tell us what exactly you hoped Ce-Star to do for you and what you are looking for in ZTA4, and I guess alot of forum-mers out here will suggest which soft is better off to stick to.

Follow bro lmf2501's advice. The version's pretty generic with the QWERTY devices. If all else fail, there's always the fall-back on a nifty "uninstall".

WAHAHAHA....WAHAHAHA.....WAHAHAHA......IT WORKS!!!!
Oops...sorry for getting carried away. So happy as I do not have to pay $20+ to $30+ for CE-Star. But the QWERTY version doesn't work on Zinc. In fact, when I install the QWERTY version, my buttons don't even response. So I uninstalled and install the normal version. Can't use keyboard but still, it more than meet my occasional needs of needing to input chinese. Thanks to the bro who show us this wondering software. YEAH!!!!

Hi niterider,
Firstly you have to download the fontpatch, the one provided by Trendsmobile works well for me, your previous attempt did not work might be due to the fact you do not have the fontpatch, you can download from
HERE.
If you are using a Pocket PC Phone QWERTY version download the SIP

For Pocket PC Phone touch screen version download the QVGA/VGA version

Tried the SIP and the QWERTY versions. The SIP version looks great and can easily replace the "CE Star" input method. Unfortunately, the QWERTY version does not seem to work on my HTC TyTN II. It does not even show up in the list in the first place.

ZTA4 is confirmed not compatible with Zinc running on wm6 aku02. A fresh hard reset zinc with nothing installed except sunglobe.ttf n ZTA4 still give problem like unable to end call . We will be testing with aku03 once we have the time to upgrade the wm6.

Hi Thundermaze,
Not to worry... None of us r expert here either. BUt we just learn from each other. (",)
For "rar" files, u need to unzip it from your PC/laptop.
Depends on wat type of setup files are inside. If the setup file is "exe" file, then u will need to connect your device to your PC/laptop and install from your PC/laptop.
However, if the setup files are "cab", then u will need to copy it to your device or storage card.
Then use your file explorer on your PPC, navigate to the location of the setup file that u have copied to. Just tap on the file and it will install.
Hope this help u. (",)
