Hi Thundermaze,

Not to worry... None of us r expert here either. BUt we just learn from each other. (",)

For "rar" files, u need to unzip it from your PC/laptop.

Depends on wat type of setup files are inside. If the setup file is "exe" file, then u will need to connect your device to your PC/laptop and install from your PC/laptop.

However, if the setup files are "cab", then u will need to copy it to your device or storage card.

Then use your file explorer on your PPC, navigate to the location of the setup file that u have copied to. Just tap on the file and it will install.

Hope this help u. (",)

Hi Thundermaze,

No worries. If u encounter anymore prob, just post it. Anyone with a solution here will reply u accordingly.

Maybe u can let us know wat device u r using so we can advise u how to perform a soft reset.

Hard reset is like formating your PPC and restore it to factory default setting. All your settings, info, data and 3rd party s/w will be all gone. Therefore, always do a proper backup before performing a hard reset.

Soft reset is like rebooting your PPC. Sometimes went your PPC hang or your memory is running low due to memory leak, performing a soft reset will help to reboot your PPC and recover some lost program memory.

Hope u understand wat i'm saying. (",)

In fact I'm asking does it work on O2 XDA IIi?
If does, should I uninstall CE-Star before install?
May I know the procedure of uninstalling CE-Star & installing the new software?
What should I install in order to read & write chinese characters in sms & doc using hanyu pinyin & powerpen?
Do let me the correct procedures.
Thx. grin.gif

ZTA4 is confirmed not compatible with Zinc running on wm6 aku02. A fresh hard reset zinc with nothing installed except sunglobe.ttf n ZTA4 still give problem like unable to end call . We will be testing with aku03 once we have the time to upgrade the wm6.

Would like to update that after thorought test, zta4 works fine with zinc on wm6 aku02. using rivaldo's method of copying sunglobe.ttf under windows and run sunglobepatch.cab :)

Hi Kaz_z,

I'm new to this. Could you tell me the steps that i should do to install this chinese software? Thanks grin.gif
kaz_z
u need to do a search in yahoo or google for sunglobe.ttf n sunglobePatch.cab . then just copy the .ttf file and paste it into your phone's windows, then run the .cab . then reset and you're set to go. This is only for viewing of chinese chars. Then just install zta4 for input.

Thanksa lot for your reply.
Cause I use either touch screen or QWERTY for input depending on different situations.
I am using O2 Xda Zinc. Is there a case that I can just choose one (QWERTY version or touch screen version) to satisfy both input methods?

By the way, I saw someone said these two software package are not quite functional in O2 Zinc. Maybe I have to return back to CE-Star... Hesitating...

Hi lmf2501, thanks for your patience.

By the way, after gone through your threads, I realized that you atually use the Soft Reset to restart the PPC, right? Originally I don't know how to restart the device. So I just manually turn off the device first, then power up it again. It sounds very stupid, right? Forgive me as I am a newbie.

But I want to ask you that whether It will cause any bad consequence to the device by using "soft reset" as the restart button? Because like in a PC, only when we encounter problems which causes PC hanging or whatelse, we do a reset. Thanks...

lmf2501
No bad consequences whatsoever i can think of, just ensure you have save any work that you might be doing on your device thats all.

Soft reset also assist you in reclaiming some memory which might have leaked, therefore its more of a pro than con actually.

Hi Limf,

Sorry for taking so long to reply u... Hope you will be able to help me.. I am using this model (HP iPAQ rx5700 Travel Companion). It is using window mobile 5.0.

The detail specifications are as follows: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/sg/en/ho/WF...5-12816710.html

Really appreciate your help....

Hi vespa_gal,

Firstly download the chinesefont patch from Trendsmobile HERER, just transfer the CAB file that you have downloaded to your device via Activesync and execute to install, soft reset after so.

Then go to HERE and ou will see 版本信息:ZTA4.v2.0.14 QVGA版下载 | ZTA4.v2.0.17 VGA版下载, just click according on QVGA.

After you have downloaded the CAB file just transfer it via Activesync to your device and install it in your MAIN memory, allow the process to complete and then soft reset again, you should be able to get the A4 sip entry now.
vespa_gal
Hi lmf,

I have install the CAB but when i try to run the other.. they prompt me there is no application associated with "A4_PPC_SIP_QVGA_v2.0.45". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application.

Actually i connected the pda to the pc then it auto sync.. but i do not really know how to transfer it via activesync. I just did a copy and paste to the folder under program files... is this the correct way...? Hope you can help... i am really lost...

Hi vespal_gal,

did you follow my instructions and installation sequence? first its the fontpatch, then the 版本信息:ZTA4.v2.0.14 QVGA版下载, should be 2 installations only.

Hi lmf2501,

Just wanna check one thing with you. Is there any difference between sunglobe+ZTA4 and fontpatch+ZTA4?
Last time I told you that sunglobe+ZTA4 were working well in my O2 Zinc. But It wasn't the case later. In my device, "keyboard" is the default input method. When I switched to A4 for chinese input, it didn't respond at all. I tried installing the program again, this problem still occurred. Finally I have to give up this sunglobe+ZTA4 combination.
Anyway, ZTA4 is still a easy-to-use software for chinese input in my opinion although not working in my machine. Thanks...

Have anybody installed this together with cootek? Any issues?

Hi m23.leo,

The fontpatch installs the sunglobe.ttf to your device which allows you to read chinese on your device, therefore i believe its the same.

I am also experiencing difficulties recently in executing the ZTA4 too, have no time to rectify it yet but meanwhile you can try using the app SIPChange which can be found HERE, it allows you to select the ZTA4 as your default SIP entry.
m23.leo
Many thanks. I will try out then.

I have it running together with Cootek TouchPal. No issues other than the normal problem that I get with any SIPs. I'm not sure whether anyone know of a fix. If I have for example TouchPal, HTC TouchPad & ZTA4 installed. Then I use TouchPal with the PDA for a while. After this random period of usage, if I try to change to HTC TouchPad or ZTA4, I will automatically be switched to the default WM keyboard. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I am using a rw6828 and I have Tengo, CE-Star, HTC Phonepad and ZT4 soft input panel installed with no problem switching between them at all.
wid4008
Opps, I think I said too early...
Out of the four SIPs, only CE-Star and Tengo works perfectly.
HTC Phonepad and ZT4 refused to show up after some time..
Even after uninstalling and reinstalling... very frustrating..
zenkinz
very typical of WM to have problem with SIP load, has to do with memory/process management issue.

would suggest you just keep to 1 or 2 SIP.

A4 doesn't have qwerty version ... that sucks...

Hmm... I think you're wrong regarding the qwerty keyboard. A4 DOES have it. You just need to install the right version. If you are at the 9-key screen, below the enter key, there should be a circle with a dot in the middle. Click that and you should be able to get your qwerty keyboard if you have the right version installed.

Ho ho ho! I finally did it, after 3 weeks of torture!
I finally get all my A4 input, CE-Star (for Japanese input), PhonePad and Tengo to working PERFECTLY!

I found out the culprit was actually PhonePad!
I installed a version for HTC touch (WM6) and it was causing all the SIP problem. I found an earlier version of PhonePad (also known as IntelliPad) and installed it. However the skins of the old version was too ugly.

Small problem. I copied and replaced the .dll files responsible for the graphic displays and hey presto! all my four SIPs now work flawlessly! w00t.gif
