WaveSecure, a new release by tenCube, a local based company and it is designed to protect the data in mobile phones and cellular handhelds if they are lost or stolen. Currently WaveSecure is an invitation only service and an invitation code is required to use WaveSecure. You could get it from a tenCube roadshow, popular blogs or forums, from current users of WaveSecure or alternatively you could also click on the "I don't have an invitation code" link located on the website to request for an invite!

hi guys!
The invite codes can only be used once, so if you receive an error while using one invitation, do try another.
There might be a possibility that all 7 codes had been snapped up, in the event that happens, follow the steps below to request for an invitation:
1. enter www.wavesecure.com
2. Click on SIGN UP NOW
3. click on "I don't have an invitation code"
Fill up the fields and we will process your invitation from there.
Thank you guys for your support and we value all feedback!
I am contactable at lionel@tencube.com .

I have installed the SW on my O2 Atom and it is working fine. However I did not find any way to remove the software from the device. It does not appear in remove programs list. Is this a bug?

Thanks to TenCube, I was able to get the software through web application yesterday. All the functions I tested works flawlessly. But my bluetooth can not be activated as soon as I installed the software, and after removing it the bluetooth works again. I have tried a few time but cound not find the solution yet..
I am using 818pro with WM6.

Hey sdh,
Thanks for the question. For the benefits of others having the same problem, let me clarify this issue:
1. WaveSecure cannot be uninstalled by normal means due to security reasons, you cant uninstall it via the regular “remove programs”, you can’t even delete the files directly from the file directory. The only way you can uninstall it is using our uninstall program called “Remove WaveSecure”, you will need your PIN to uninstall it. This ensures that nobody else can remove WaveSecure except you.
2. WaveSecure is also a stealth application – you wont find it in Remove Programs or Running Programs List, this enables you to monitor your phone without the thief noticing if your phone is stolen ( if you choose to track the person down instead of locking the phone up ).
I would suggest you do not lock the phone down immediately after realising it's lost and give the thief a chance to use it so that you can track his sim number in your account. It may also be interesting to note that you will be able to back up all the thief's data if he inserts his sim card in!
Hope this helps! Drop us an email at support@wavesecure.com if you have further questions. :)
Best Wishes,
Lionel

@Knight:
The number that you used to sign up with is always in the secondary SIM card list. Any other SIMs that you add as secondary SIMs can be removed by clicking "remove" next to the number. All secondary SIMs can be removed (except for your primary SIM).
Your primary SIM is considered a "Safe SIM" and your phone will never lock if this SIM is inserted even if Autolock on SIM Change is enabled; except in the following case:
If Autolock on SIM Change is enabled, and the primary SIM (the one you used to sign up with) is changed to a SIM that is not in the list of secondary SIMs, the phone will lock. If you put back your primary SIM, your phone will remain locked. This is cater for the scenario where the thief picks up your phone, puts in his SIM and sees that the phone is locked. If he switches it back to your SIM, the phone should not unlock (it would beat the purpose of the autolock feature!)
@Salai:
Thanks - we are glad that you are finding WaveSecure useful. Our apologies for messing with your Bluetooth stack - we have not encountered this problem before. We would like to investigate this further and fix it if possible. Do you have a copy of the ROM your installed on your 818pro? Please do email me at roy at tencube dot com if you still do, we would like to investigate it.
@sdh:
It is not a bug, it is by design for extra security as explained by Lionel.
Thanks!

Hi Roy,
Feature request: Lot of new phones are GPS enabled. It would be a good idea to remotely enable the GPS and track the actual location of the phone. This will suerly make your application very unique from the others that are available so far.

Hi Roy,
I have notice that my Phone (XDA Flame) always connect itself to GPRS and my phone had hang twice after i installed the software. I have disabled the auto update ever since.
I would like to see options that allow me to choose which method i would want to backup. e.g 1) By Sync only 2) By sms only or 3) GPRS only or any 2 combination or all 3 options.
Thanks
Tristan

BTW. You might want to edit your FAQ
From your FAQ
How can I uninstall WaveSecure on my phone?
Symbian: Go to the WaveSecure application on the phone. It can be found either under the menu or under the installations or applications folder. Go to settings and after entering your PIN, select Stop WS. After WaveSecure has been successfully stopped, you can uninstall WaveSecure via application manager found under Menu -> Tools. It may happen that the uninstall fails the first time around. This is a known issue and is resolved by attempting to uninstall again.
Windows Mobile: Go to Start -> Settings -> System -> Remove Programs. Select tenCube WaveSecure and click on remove. You will have to put in your WaveSecure PIN to uninstall WaveSecure.

@sdh:
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, you're right - it would be a great feature to have. We do have a prototype in-house and we are testing and refining it right now. We're going to release location tracking integrated with WaveSecure in the next couple of months or so. Of course - getting it to work on every GPS WM phone is not the easiest thing to do in the world.
Would love to have your feedback on the prototype and possibly help us define the user experience you would like to see. Email me at roy at tencube dot com and we'll set you up with a prototype.
@just:
Thanks for your feedback - great idea for putting the choice of communication channel in the hands of the user. We'll implement a part of it in our next release (will give you a sneak preview soon if you'd like). WaveSecure uses any available data connection (WiFi/Activesync/3G/GPRS) - choosing the cheapest route available. For clarification's sake - WaveSecure uses the data connection when:
1. You restart the phone and WaveSecure connects to the server to communicate the SIM number inserted in your phone.
2. Periodically (every 12 hours), WaveSecure connects to the server to check if your security settings such as Autolock on SIM Change, Secondary SIMs and Autobackup settings have changed from the website.
3. When you send a backup/restore command from the server
4. When you have autobackup enabled, it connects to backup the incremental data
WaveSecure connects in the background and although the amount of data sent is very small (sometimes less than the cost of an SMS!), the lack of visibility can be quite unsettling. Implementing your feature suggestion would go a long way in overcoming the visibility issues.
Apologies about the FAQ - we'll change it asap. Thanks for bringing it to our attention! FYI - in the next release we will switch to the standard WM type uninstallation. It appears that quite a few users are rather startled when they don't see WaveSecure in their remove programs list :)

Hi Roy,
Thank you for your clarification.
Would there be any problem when i disconnect the GPRS straight after i reset?
roy100
Jul 24 2007, 01:50 AM
Hi just,
No, there wouldn't be a problem. After a reset, if you cancel the GPRS before it can communicate with the server, it will communicate the SIM number over SMS.
Tip: You can monitor the HTTP (total - does not distinguish between ActiveSync, Wifi and GPRS) and SMS usage of WaveSecure by going to the WaveSecure app under Programs.
Quick question: How do you think we could be more transparent about how and when we use GPRS with users (other than posting on this thread of course :P)?

Hi Roy/Lionel
Just downloaded WaveSecure and tried to install it on my Dopod D810. However, I can't seem to activate the WaveSecure.
Keeps telling me that "Server is not ready for activation". Now I can't seem to uninstall it too.
Is the trial deactivated ?

Aug 17 2007, 10:54 PM
Hi fotonutz.
The trial is still on but we do not support the D810 fully so we have not given out invitation codes to users using the D810. WaveSecure uses SMS/GPRS for communication with the server and we have noticed that Windows Mobile 5 ROMs for the D810 interfere with the GSM comm. stack and results in WaveSecure not functioning as expected. For this reason, we have not invited our D810 users to the trial. I understand that you chose another device model and tried to get it to work in D810 - but unfortunately, we do not support D810 fully.
Now here's the good news. WaveSecure on D810 with a WM6 ROM works perfectly. If you have signed up for WaveSecure and have a D810 with a WM6 ROM, please drop us an email at support at tencube dot com and we'll extend an invite to you.
To uninstall WaveSecure, look for the "Remove WaveSecure" icon under Programs and tap on it.
PS: We've got a new release coming up soon and we are looking for people to give us some feedback on the improvements we've made. If interested, do send us an email to support at tencube dot com. Thanks!
May the phone be with you!
Warm Regards,
Roy,

Hi Roy
Thanks for the response. I've upgraded my D810 ROM to WM6 already and thanks for referring me to Ming. Can you PM me the invitation codes for the D810? I think this will be a great news for all D810 owners.
Thanks Roy !!
