So far our little island Singapore has been quite exposure-shy when it comes to Windows Mobile 6 devices however as year end draws near we are expecting more to hit our shores. Already we have a few that we are familiar with, namely the Dopod C500 and Dopod C730, the upgraded O2 Zinc and O2 Atom Life etc.

Digitimes recently reported that an additional 20 Microsoft Windows Mobile 6-based handsets, which mostly will be Smartphones, will be launched before the end of 2007 and global shipments of Windows Mobile-based devices are expected to top 20 million units in 2008, according to sources at Microsoft Taiwan.

HTC is currently has the lion share of the Windows Mobile market however lets not brush off other makers like Asustek, Gigabyte, E-Ten, Quanta, Arima, HP and Samsung, with LG joining the pack too as reported earlier and s well as Palm, which is expected to launch it's first non-touch screen Smartphone this year.
