If you don't already know, Mobile operator MobileOne has rolled out free wireless broadband access (WBA) at Parco Bugis Junction. Since 21 Dec last year, shoppers can access the Internet that offers up to 1Mbps download speed at no charge. The company mentioned that this free service will be made available until 31 Dec 2007. So if you're there shopping this weekend, remember to fire up your device and start surfing. wink.gif

Any details on how to access?

Hahahahahahaha, how ironic. I've been sponging the wifi connection off the M1 store there till the day Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf closed down. >_>

Is it available for other telco users? How to go about accessing it?
Infinix
I was surprised when i was able to use it when i was @ Terra Restaurant.....

It's pretty simple...once it detects M1Broadband as the SSID. go into your favourite browser and they will ask you for your mobile number and email address...after that you are in!

It's not limited to any telco users. I keyed in my Singtel number..=)

Was at Bugis Junction in the mall.
Connected to M1Broadband without problem but the speed was very slow...worst than a 56kbps dial up connection.
Took forever to update my secure AvantGo subscriptions.
Speed test took too long to return a speed result.
So I cancelled everything & went on my way.
Think they have lots to do to tune the mesh network to make it work for everyone at every corner.
Furthermore, I was standing in wide open space, not some secluded hidden corner.

In that case, I think the Wireless@sg seems like a better bet.

I use wireless@SG without any problems too... tried at afew locations already. It is a consortium, so at different locations, you may be accessing via different ISP.

Macdonald also have free WiFi access from SkyNetGlobal. Downtowneast is free too.
