" Easy Fix For Screen Allignment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thought I'd let you know of a easy way to fix your screen allignment problems in just 10 seconds.

My Vario 2 was fine for around 6 weeks before it started going out of allignment. It got progressively worse and recently it would need redoing 10 - 15 times a day.

So, how did i fix it. Simple, with a business card. Here's how. Take the business card (preferably a thin one with sharp corners. Insert it under the edge of the screen and run it along all four edges. As you do this you'll feel the bond of the gasket breaking. Thats it. I did this 5 days ago and have had no issues since."

I used a laminated ID card and inserted it on the all edges (especially the right side)... I felt sticky but surely frees up the LCM from sponge pressure.

and did a test by pressing/piching the right side and SA had not returned.

Myself used a laminated ID and inserted on the edges... felt sticky..(LCM too closed to the gasket)..frees up the lcm..

Try it..

What about dust entering below the screen? Dose it feel tight enough after this "surgery"?
sectorlord
The LCM is sealed...unlike earlier Ipaq screen...

Hermes is not 100% dust sealed... just look at your front keys (dpad) there's a lot of bigger gaps there..

I dare not tried it yet. Any more success news on this Surgery?
kekinlim
anybody tried this?

Thanks Sectorlord, was contemplating dismantling the set and getting rid of rubber supports/gaskets.

Am trying this now, give me about a day or two to report back.

1st time i tried, SA issues came back.

2nd time, i did a more thorough job, have been subjecting the device to lots of screen taps (thanks to constant playing of bubblebreaker).

So far so good, but its still early days yet.

an update:

its good news so far, have been subjecting my unit to heavy stylus inputs and so far the alignment issue seems to have gone. 2 Days and counting....

Thanks for the update.

thanks for the update...

My SA problem is giving me headache and i don't want to bring back the set to SIS... don't trust them + don't know how long will the repair take... Hope that if this method is working fine, will give i a shot..thanks..

some pointers and hope this helps,
use a thin (very thin) preferably plastic namecard.
use a bit of pressure as you slide all 4 corners.
sectorlord
actually you just need to insert it on the right side edge..since the didgitizer on that side is little bit wider than the viewing area..

Yes, use a flex plastic and wait until the stickness is gone..that's the LCM breaking bond with the gasket..

Mine is 2 weeks now ...and pressing it hard on my pocket etc..

still no SA ...

Upz.... any updates? :D
