Hi,

I am new here. Trying out with this tricks but can't seem to find the following in my reg. (O2 Stealth running WM5). Can find the rest and had edited them but just couldn't find this one sowwy.gif

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:1
Change to
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:0

Can only find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir

Any expert mind sharing their opinion?

Thanks in advance. grin.gif

The stealth does not have InfraRed I think, so this value will not be present. >_>

(Is it just me, or does the edit button disappear after some time?)

Interesting hack. For my Atom, so far, I've seen no difference in overnight drain (7% - I did most of the standard power saving steps beforehand). But when I went MP3 mode on the way to work, it took about 5% less power. (15% on the way to work vs 20% on the way back).

I'll be happy if I can make my Atom last a day and a half. No matter how many power saving steps you take, seems you can't make an Atom last more than a day of standard use. Maybe it's time I brought an extended battery...

Thanks for enlightening. May be u r right. I am monitoring my Stealth battery performance now. Hopefully it can last for at least two days under normal usage. grin.gif

any updates on battery performance on your stealth?

I have an ATOM and off late I also have the Battery Drain issue

I have applied all tweaks and settings mentioned in this post but the avg battery life for me is 8 to 10 hrs,

Avg usage for me is

Around 60 Mts Phone Talk
2 or 3 times Mail check with GPRS
15 to 30 mts of Audio or Video playback

I am looking at the extra power Battery for my ATOM as I am planning to hold on to it until the o2 Flame is launched and gets its first ROM update .

So far lasted for two days under pretty heavy phone usage & sms (getting 20-30 calls a day while at work is normal). Didn't really use the PPC function extensively as yet. Blue tooth and Wifi off.

Fully charged at 10pm, two days later return home (~8.20pm) left about 5-8% of battery life. Not too bad huh?

wow...excellent tweak. am i just dreaming or what..... my battery fully charged @ midnight. next morning @ 7am, still @ 100%!! and with bluetooth ON. usually it will drain 5-10% but not now. btw, i'm using X500

On the Atom: I think we'll have to live with the heavy power drain issue. Unfortunately, the GSM circuit = the audio circuit, so unlike previous devices, having the device wait for a call will leave the speakers "on" all the time, and there's where all the drain problems come from.

(It's also why speaker breakdown and touchscreen whine are common problems, even if the phone reciever/earpiece is not affected.)

How can I tell?

Well, the Atom is the only device so far to let me hear the "boooop" (the sound you hear, before dialing a number, when you pick up a landline phone), a split second before trying to connect my number. Apparently, the GSM module thinks its necessary to activate the speakers even when it does not need to!

Yes, O2 did a good job trying to hide it, but one missed call and the behaviour's out again. This has NEVER BEFORE occured on any handphone I had.

although its a good tweak, i have now decided to restore back to original setting. reason was.... it is hampering my worldmate app....don't know why...

Just realised that some of the tweaks seem to be associated with the wifi network adaptors. After doing the tweak, I am now unable to turn on my wifi. Even the icon at the Today screen is missing. Is anyone facing the same problem?

Can someone explain what the 4 tweaks do?

Guys,

Anyone can enlighten me ?
