Lovely Palm. But too bad, a square screen is no go for me... grin.gif

Palm is marketing it as a Smartphone, because it is, but it is not what we Windows Mobile users understanding of the term Smartphone, it will be weird to market it as Palm Treo 750v Pocket PC Phone Edition. sneaky.gif

It make sense since they have been using the term Smartphone all along. The term "Smartphone" only became more confusing with the introduction of Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition.

Wow, it's launched already! Anyone know if there is an online retailer in Singapore that sells this? I want to get this from Hong Kong.

I don't understand.... It has the UMTS bandwidth but no front camera. How do you make Videocalls on this phone? Is it really 3G?

3G isn't all about video conference calls anyway, although it is weird for a 3G phone not to have a front camera. There are also other 3G phones that do not have front cameras, e.g. Nokia E60/E61, SE M600i/W950i, etc. At least you can make use of faster and cheaper internet connection as compared to GPRS.

The device will sell at M1 but won't be locked to their network. So you can walk in and buy it for the retail price and use it with a SingTel or Starhub SIM card. M1 may sell it at a lower price with a contract as they often do with new models.

I have used 3G devices for a long time and never make to take video calls, so it is not a big deal to me at all that there is no second camera. The Treo 750v is 3G and software upgradeable to HSDPA, which will be available for download in a few months based on what was said by Vodafone and Palm in Europe.

Yeah agreed.....

But at $1298 with lower tech specs.... difficult to push sales....

Though Palm had a reputable brand name somemore with newer WM5.2......

Cant wait for a user review on this man.........
