Thanks to Microsoft, PPCSG has once again been invited to Mobius. This year, there's not one but two conferences, Mobius Thailand and Mobius Boston. I'll be flying in to Phuket for the Thailand conference while Shane aka Echelon will head over to USA for the Boston one. Over the next few days, we'll be posting the latest Windows Mobile snippets spotted at the conference so curb your techno-lust for the time being.

Update: Head over here for full coverage.

Have a good trip boss! Enjoy yourselves!

Pls feedback to them about that atrocious hissing and skipping problem on that MS A2DP BT Profile on AKU 2.0 running on Atom & iPAQ 6818/28. Thank you. grin.gif whistle.gif

You'll be happy to learn that the upcoming Windows Mobile AKU3 update is going to offer a tonne of enhancements. Some of these includes a 3G feature pack with better SIM/USIM contacts allowing you to sort contacts alphabetically, features a 3G network control panel and enhancements to video telephony. There's also a language pack installation for PPC that allows you to choose your preferred language when setting up your Pocket PC initially. For messaging, AKU3 offers you the ability to send vCard over SMS, SMS over GPRS and saving SMS to SIM. Try viewing a QVGA video on the HTC Universal and it doesn't scale properly to fullscreen. AKU3 has Windows Media Player enhancements that address this with it's video scaling support and it'll sport an equalizer too.

pardon my question,

But can my current device(o2 Atom Exec) update to AKU3 when it is out?

Based on past observations, Microsoft releases the AKU and leave it up to the OEM to implement/support them on their existing devices.

Hell yeah! Improvements were made to A2DP to improve audio quality over Bluetooth!

I do hope Dopod and O2 would release AKU3 soon!

No Mobius conference is complete without sexy Windows Mobile gadgets. Here’re some for you to drool on.

[attachmentid=7871]
The O2 Xda Stealth that we’ve previously mentioned. Manufactured by Gigabyte, it has a 2.4" QVGA screen with 65K colors. Sporting triband GSM radio, it’s powered by an Intel PXA 272 processor running at 416MHz, 192MB ROM and 64MB RAM. Connectivity comes in the form of Bluetooth 1.2, 802.11b/g WiFi. It has a 2MP camera with Flash, a miniSD slot, miniUSB and a slide-out keypad. Our biggest gripe is the proprietary headset connector, though.

Not the first time we featured these two Windows Mobile devices from TechFaithWireless. Come on TFW, we’ve seen long enough, give us the real deal!

[attachmentid=7873]
Here’s a comparison shot with Motorola SLVR look-a-like from TechFaithWireless with the HTC StarTrek and Breeze.

[attachmentid=7874]
This upcoming Samsung smart-phone sports an 8GB hard drive. Watch out iPod!

[attachmentid=7875]
We’re sure you are all familiar with the HTC Excalibur so we won’t dwell on this. Check out our previous coverage for more info.

This Windows Mobile smart-phone from ASUS takes a leaf out of the Korean handsets by offering media controls on the external front chassis. Despite it being 3G-enabled, we didn’t like the lackluster 1.3MP camera.
