Check out http://www.gamoku.com - the games are free but you can only play them online so you need to use your WiFi or mobile connection. The games are mostly < 25kb. So no worries on download time or charges.

If you don't mind paying, I find Obulis - the 2nd Epoch a very addictive game.

i personally found 3d bowling very addictive when you can control the hook of the ball!~ pure fun!~
