Saw a online newspaper the other day that said that at the end of this year (December), Singapore would have a wireless hotspots in every inch of the island. I don't think that it's going to come through, not probably until next year. Has anyone heard of this?

I read it from an Indonesian newspaper.

Where in Changi Airport do they have free Wifi?

I've been hanging out at arrival and departure lounges all covered by Starhub and Singtel.

NYDC branches all have Wifi and free. I've been to Holland and Wheelock branch, both have. I think there's one at Suntec too.

Hi Rivaldo

I could be wrong because when i try to surf, it went to the Login Page.

But last weekend I was at Woodlands Library, seems to be able to surf but gave up shortly after that as the speed was terribly slow

Last time I was in the Changi Airport, in the Departure lounges in one of the coffee shop by the duty free (I think it's Pacific Cafe), my laptop can detect a free wireless signal, I think the SSID says something about FREEWIFI or something. Not sure, and I was able to use my laptop.

Then prehaps it belongs to the cafe. I'm very sure along the lounge to the gates, there's no free wifi.

But they do have computers with free internet access along the way.

Singapore has announced that the Free Wireless (Wireless@SG) has started since yesterday and those who want to take benefit for this free service must register to some websites.

If you have Singnet account, you can go to Singnet.com website to register. Has anyone tried? I kept getting an error when trying to register from Singnet:

We are not able to process your subscription at this time. Please try again later. Thank you.

Let us know if anyone has gone through the registration successfully. Thank you

I have the same problem too with singnet registration. Till now not able to do it.

I sign up for the free wireless with SingTel successfully and now waiting for activation of my account. Tried detecting the AP in TPY but can't find it.

I heard existing Outdoor Wireless Surf users do not have to register for wireless@sg as they are included to the service automatically.

Went to Orchard yesterday with my Dopod 818Pro. I installed WiFi Companion to make it easier for me to detect signals.

I walked from Orchard MRT, all the way to Paragon while kept pressing "REFRESH" for WiFi signal but it didn't detect any WIRELESS@SG. I did detect a lot of other networks but WIRELESS@SG.

Has anyone experienced the Wireless@SG?

I also tried TPY and I had to stand next to the Burger King to get the Wireless@SG. (Practically, I had to stand really close to Burger King). I thought it's supposed to be anywhere in the area (according to the map). Why do I have to stand near Burger King?

Even I tried to stand in front of the Breadtalk, it won't work.

Hi Guys, i did register with singtel for Wireless@SG, they send me some passwor through sms. but i lost the sms, how??? do i have to have that password for accessing Wireless@SG??
bankir
You do need username and password when using wireless@sg. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to reset the password on their website. Try calling Singnet if see if they can retrieve your password or resend a new password to you.
