After installing ActiveSync 4.2 (final) on my PC i am getting "The page you are looking for cannot be found due to unknown error 0x80072f78" in pocket internet explorer. Also, no other PPC programs can access the internet from PPC.

For 4.1, i had no problem with this running with ZoneAlarm and Check Point VPN client.

Anyone encounters the same issue as me ?

I did a uninstall of 4.1 then upgraded to 4.2. cry.gif

Hi, just make sure that your AS is configure to the internet and ZoneAlarm allow AS to connect to the internet... U may clear the internet explorer's cache in your ppc.

Hi pisonic

I encountered this exact problem mentioned HERE. Until now I still couldn't find a solution.

I also saw 2 other posts at xda-developers.com forum complaining about the 0x80072f78 error code after upgrading to AS 4.2 on 2 different devices but nobody has the answer.

Do let us know if you are able to solve this problem. Thanks.

Tested with my set. Found that the settings in AS is not important.
But what is critical is the settings in my PPC.

Try changing the settings in Connections-Advanced-Select Network-> "My Work Network"

Sounds like best to stick to v4.1?

Not everyone has the above mentioned problem on AS 4.2 so give it a try since it provides faster file transfers and more stable synchs.

If you encounter any anomalies, just uninstall 4.2 and install 4.1 again. Remember to remove your existing partnerships on both the host computer and PPC when you are trying to uninstall AS (so that you will have a clean setup).

OK, I've found the solution to resolve the problem with Internet passthrough via ActiveSync 4.2. Tested and worked for me. grin.gif

Here is what you should do:
1. Install/upgrade ActiveSync 4.2 if you haven't done so.
2. Download and unzip the attached file.
3. Double click LSPvalue.reg on your desktop with ActiveSync 4.2 installed.
4. Click YES, then OK, and it's done!

Credit goes to Ghaled from the xda-developers forum for providing the fix. Details of the registry tweak are explained HERE.
