Press and hold the "Call Answer Button" (the same button that you press to receive an incoming call).
What happens? The Start Menu pops up.
This works on me and my friend's rw6828. Not sure about other phones, though. Give it a try... It would be nice to feedback the phone models for which this trick works (or does not work).

Yeah, works for my 6818 but it loads my cascading start menu instead of the default one. Anyone knows how to load the default start menu instead ?

haha... yup! found it on page 8 of the 6828 manual. next time must read the manual more thoroughly!
anyways, this is pretty useful for me cos i don't have to open the flip cover to access certain functions.

yup, the press+hold "End Call" button trick is listed somewhere else in this forum (Can't remember where).
i found out the press+hold "Call Answer" button trick when I was trying to activate the speakerphone (like in my old O2 XDA2), but instead the Start Menu popped up!

Hi guys. just in case ya haven't come accross this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic....light=smartskeyThis background prog gives new meaning to your 2 softkeys. The one on the left launches the start menu (same as the call button, but this time no need to press and hold for long) and the softkey on the right controls the "X" or "OK" on the top right of any progs.
Sweet eh? Give it a try. I love it on ma HP.

what for do you want this to work on your 818 pro
818pro has 2 additional buttons which HP6828 does not have
namely, 'window start' button and 'ok' button
u Just press the window start button can already...why u still wanna press and hold the call button...

does this work with atom?

Sep 14 2006, 09:48 AM
highly unlikely that it will work with the atom but you may try it and report your findings so other users will know :) i think even if they are made by the same device manufacturer hp and O2 have taken different roads in customizing the ROM and therefore the device features.
