I've just released a new application. Actually, it isn't really an application itself. It is actually a collection of the 4 theme-related applications I have released recently.

UI Tweaker

Instead of going through all the trouble to install the 4 apps one by one, you just need to install this to get the benefits of all 4 apps. One installer package only, so that saves the trouble.

Now, to talk about what each of the modules (utilities) do:
  • PT Explorer: Simple Theme Manger for you to change themes.
  • TdyScheme Changer: Allows you to change Today color schemes, set the Base Hue or black bars for WM5, clean theme-related registries, manage color schemes, etc
  • SysColor Changer: Allows you to change system-wide colors, e.g. color of buttons, scrollbars, popup message boxes, etc
  • WM5Color Changer: Allows you to change components of the today color scheme that is relevant for Windows Mobile 5.0 only.

Hi, you mentioned there was a problem with PT Explorer in WM5. Is the same problem still present in PT Explorer version 0.1.1?
vicott
UPDATE: Apparently, PT Explorer doesn't seem to work well in WM5. If you also have problems with the program on your device which is not on WM5, please let me know (although there should not be problems in WM2003). Meanwhile, I'm still investigating on the issue. unsure.gif

UI Tweaker version 0.1.1 has just been released. The update description for the individual modules are as follows.

WM5Color Changer Version 0.1.1:
- No longer dependent on "refresh.exe"

PT Explorer Version 0.1.2:
- No longer dependent on "refresh.exe"

TdyScheme Changer Version 0.4.2:
- No longer dependent on "refresh.exe"
- Today screen will only refresh if there are changes made
vicott
One of the WM5 users had informed me that PT Explorer v0.1.2 is finally working well on WM5. Now, I can finally proceed to work on my next application. It's not a theme-related software though.

There may be also a quick and minor update for TdyScheme Changer soon. Some features will be removed as they do not work well under some conditions. For example, the use of images for today/start menu background is pretty useless until image resizing features are added in. The display of the today background image in the main screen is also pretty useless. Somemore, the display may look weird in True VGA or landscape modes.

BTW, is there a demand for TdyScheme Changer to support square screens and landscape mode? If there is, I may work on re-arranging the UI components for it to fit into square screens.

UI Tweaker 0.1.2 has just been released. Update description as below.

- Background image preview on the main dialog has been removed.
- Black bars option are disabled when Windows Default theme is in use.

WM5Color Changer Version 0.1.2:
- UI controls are disabled when Windows Default theme is in use.

UI Tweaker v0.1.3 has been released today. In this new version, TdyScheme Changer has been updated to v0.4.4 and it fully supports square screens as well as QVGA screens in landscape mode.

When you mentioned it doesn't apply the theme, does it mean there aren't any changes at all? Or is it just the today screen image not filling up the whole screen in default VGA mode?
Diggia
Thanks Vicott for your quick reply
When I apply theme there aren't any changes at all
But if i try to apply another theme PT Explorer apply the previous theme and not the last i choose blink.gif
For example i want to apply the theme called "Vista" and i click on it....nothing appears
If I try apply another theme, for example "Win Black", PT Explorer apply the Vista theme
Thanks wink.gif

Strangely, I also experienced the same problem for the first time just now. And even more strangely, everything returns to normal after a soft reset. I'll continue optimizing and investigating on it.

Meanwhile, can you download the ZIP file for v0.3.1.1, overwrite the EXE file and try again? Or probably try a soft reset? Let me know if the problem pesists. BTW, is your device set to default VGA mode or True VGA mode?
Diggia
I've just overwritten the .exe with the version 0.3.1.1, softreset and now it WORKS ! w00t.gif
Thanks a lot and thanks again for your work wink.gif

PS: My device is in default VGA
vicott
Do you have any problems changing to QVGA themes in Default VGA using PT Explorer? I have received feedback in version 0.1 that QVGA themes are not filling up the whole screen (it's only filling up 1/4 instead) in default VGA mode. So, I added code to delete the DPI-related registry keys from version 0.2 onwards. So, I'm wondering if it works now.

I'm sorry vicott but i don't know, I use VGA themes only
wink.gif
vicott
So I suppose the VGA themes are displaying in "full mode" (i.e. uses the full image rather than only 1/4 of it). That also indirectly mean that the QVGA themes still aren't working properly. If that's the case, I really have no idea how VGA devices handle installation of QVGA themes. cry.gif

I think the best solution is using VGA Themes on VGA device.
Until now I didn't have any problems with VGA themes

UI Tweaker has just been updated to v0.4. Main updates are landscape support and more WM5-friendly. The BaseHue bug in TdyScheme Changer has also finally been solved.
vicott
UI Tweaker has been updated to solve a bug in SysColor Changer. All the applications support 320x320 screen now.

Kudos to Vicott's range of great freeware!

I was searching for (1) complete back theme (2) possible registry tweak and viola! I found this wonderful software.

Thanks, Vicott! (once again).

PS: any short cut to get all black background with white fonts? grin.gif
