HandMap has a nice revamped website selling GPS digital maps for many cities including Singapore (US$18 Only)

Spotted a good site that has free gps Thailand maps for example Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok etc. Maps are all in HandMap .pdb format

Yes of course. You need to buy the map + the map reader software as well!

used handmap on treo, not very happening, not routable, map lacks details, so end up switching to que.
my opinion is don't waste your time with handmap.
