Just upgraded to the new Dopod 900 ROM... still looking.

Been through their Extended ROM. There has been MAJOR changes. I can't recognise any of the CAB files anymore. Does anyone have the expertise to identify what each CAB file does? Here are my findings. Some confirmation/correction would be greatly appreciated:

MP_Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB
• NOT SURE. Some kind of ringtone plugin player, related to telephony function I guess (???)

MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX-CV-051227.CAB
• Adds Clearvue PDF link.
• Adds MIDLET Manager link.
• Adds/configures some MMS settings/programs/link (???)

Signed_SSD_Shortcut_WWE.sa.CAB
• Adds SIM Manager link.
• Adds Installs Enroller link.

PP_AutoConfig_UNI_2.11.1(WWE).CAB
• Installs AutoConfigure (Telco) program.
• Adds AutoConfigure (Telco) link.

Signed_CVC-PPC-AME-Dopod-601062.cab
• Installs Cyberon Voice Commander.

PP_Dopod_Button4(WWE)_UNI.CAB
• Adds Cyberon Voice Commander link.
• Configures some button settings for Cyberon Voice Commander (???)

P_Version.CAB
• Displays the Extended ROM version (???)

PP_Dopod_Certificate_UNI.CAB
• NOT SURE. Seems to deal with some kind of Internet certification (???)

PP_Dopod_UXC-IMTV(WWE)_UNI.CAB
• NOT SURE. Seems to deal with some kind of "IMTV" settings (???)

P_Other_Conn_Settings.CAB
P_RemoveIMTV.CAB
P_WML_Over_http.CAB
• ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA on what these 3 CAB files do.

P_RemoveAllConn.CAB

PP_Dopod-A_Conn(SG-StarHub-PostPaid)_UNI.CAB
P_Conn_Settings_General.CAB

• Configures telco settings (probably MMS/GPRS). The first file obviously remove all connection settings. But what do the other files do exactly? (???) And more importantly which files do I need for functional MMS?

Also, the current ROM upgrade is MISSING several CAB files from the prev ROM. Important ones include:

Signed_AudioDriver_Patch.sa.CAB
• Some kind of Audio Driver patch?
• Installs a new dll file.

Signed_Disable_ErrorReport.sa.CAB
• Disables error reporting
• Install error reporting feature under system control panel.

MP_Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB <-- If i remember correctly this is to enable video call functionality or has something to do with video calls


Signed_Disable_ErrorReport.sa.CAB <-- This can be done manually from settings. You can disable error reporting from there.

No, the D900 ROM only comes with AKU2.

Create the MMS account, does not setup MMS.


Register the firmware information.


Register some information about the device, eg. change the user agent of PIE.

PS: Based on 838, similar but some differences may be present. Some file are not available on 838, so no idea, :)
