As you all know Micro$oft is replacing the clock on the titlebar with the battery indicator icon. I feel the pain too, I think Micro$oft should allow us some options to have clock on the titlebar. So far I only can find 2 workaround for the clock issue.

Hope this thread can generate some suggestions or tricks for the clock titlebar thingy wink.gif

A fix for the clock problem in AKU2.2 (due for release in the future)
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archiv.../28/586453.aspx

The bad news is that there's no way to get the clock back in AKU2. The good news is that there will be a way in the next minor release (AKU2.2). But the other bad news is that I don't know which hardware devices will use AKU2.2. So I can't tell you when or even if you'll be able to make use of this change.

thanks for the find mini

Mike Calligro in his article mentioned above says...
QUOTE
What you need is a DWORD value called ShowTitleBarClock that is set to 1.  The value needs to be placed in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell.  After adding the value and flushing the registry (usually the safest way to do that is to hit the power button to suspend the device, wait a few seconds, and then hit it again to wake it back up) reset the device.  If it comes back with the clock showing, you've got an AKU2.2 device.

QUOTE
If you go to Start->Settings->System->About it will list the build number as something like xxxxx.2.0.0.  The numbers after the first five digits is the AKU number.  So that example is AKU2.0.  The registry key went into 2.2, which will show up as xxxxx.2.2.0.

this works on the newly leaked ROM of Atom.

the new leaked ATOM ROM, is it a AKU2.2 version?

Will be interesting to see if Atom will be the first phone to have AKU 2.2.

I tried the registry fix but on the AKU 2.0.0, it doesn't work.

So looks like most of us have to wait for AKU2.2 ROM updates before we can start enjoying this hack.

Just to confirm, bobby, you only did this one hack only, right.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell - dword - 1

Can you explain what you did? I used the ShowTitlebarClock reg hack on my 818Pro, but it didn't work. I then used the TBOpt reg hack and what I got was the batt meter on top of the date in my Today screen:

[attachmentid=6789]

but on other screens, it appears normal:

[attachmentid=6790]

hi Cywa,

this doesnt work on AKU2.0 ROMS...this tweak only works on ROMs that features AKU2.2 which is present on the latest XDA Atom ROM upgrade...

RW6828 is a AKU2.2 device. Tested working on mine.
idries17
just got my 818pro yesterday.

ROM version: 2.15.13.27 WWE
ROM date: 3/9/06

the thing is, on my Today screen, the battery icon appears as if its cut in half, leaving a blank at the top right hand corner. the icon goes away in other screens, replaced by the time and the Close icon...

why is the battery icon like that? is that normal? or is my set faulty?

appreciate the help in advance.
thescum
This is normal for this version of ROM on the 818 Pro. If you're using the default "Close" or rather, if you don't have a task manager, then you will see as you have previously described.

*EDIT* i see what you mean from other threads. Yup this is very normal once the battery drops below 60%, at least for AKU2.0 versions of ROM
MobileRomeo
yeah bhenchoddon atom really rocks... the clock on titlebar will function only on AKU 2/+ and thats becoz of the protests by us, the users. :)

Any hope for 6818? I cant find the "show clock" thingy. My device version is same as yours?

But I don't know id my ROM is latest or not? (how can I check?)
Here is my ROM version (is it latest?): 1.00.03 WWE / Date 06/04/21

I noticed that when i enable the password screen, and when the password screen is activated, the time will appear on the title bar...

FYI of those who still have trouble removing the battery indicator with the time and/or date on titlebar here is how u do it.

in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell

add the following string value
"TBOpt"=dword:00000001
"ShowTitleBarClock"=dword:00000001

below is an extract from www.mydigitallife.info/2006/08/03/change-the-display-of-clock-time-or-date-on-wm5-taskbar-for-windows-mobile-5-phone/ which shows what the TBOpt value means (I used value 1 here)

To show nothing:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal)

To show just the clock:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)

To show just the date:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)

To show both the date and the clock:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 3 (DWORD decimal)

And here is a screen shot of my atom. Btw I did not display time and date because the date part will not display well as the 6 in year 06 is blocked by my vbar. And also just displaying time alone looks nicer..

Strange leh? Got no vbar but the year only shown xx/xx/0. confused.gif
Any help bros.?

The hack to show the date and time gets cut off by the X. Reason for this is the font is in bold.

You might wanna change the system font (arial narrow for instance), coz i don't think its possible to overide this bold.

Thought of trying another shot at it,
locate as per your example shown.
But unfortunately my device’s overrides
doesn’t have the SSDte.
Anyway, many thanks for sharing. smile.gif

there's too little space, so i removed the yy instead, and used period "." rather than "/" or "-" as it takes the least amount of space.
