1. Select "Disable fowarding" since this is a basic setup and there is no nees to foward any incoming mail from gmail to other email account.

2. Then on point 1 "1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since" select "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)"
3. Remeber to select "keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox" if you want to keep your mails on gmail server.
4. Click "Save Changes" button to save the settings.
Note: These settings will be reseted once we leave above window, but not to worry because we can redo it if we want to have gmail on another devices.

Now we want to make sure that attachments will be stored in storage card or our current SD/minSD/CF card because storing attachments in main memory would be not good idea since it has limited capasity.

If you want pocket outlook to connect and check for messages tick the option below but I do not recommend this option.
user posted image
This is one of the most important step as many users forget to change the connection type.
Please do remember always:
1. If you are connected to Wi-Fi access point use "The Internet" as a connection type.
2. If you are connected to 3G/UMTS/GPRS/EDGE select to
Examples:
Singtel: "IDEAS Internet Settings"
Starhub: "Gee! Settings" or "Gee! Prepaid Settings" if you use Starhub prepaid sim card.
ronaldf117
Follow these below configurations:

We will discuss further about the "Only display messages from" on next chapter, for now just simply leave it as default.

Make sure you've select POP3 and in "name" section, try a short name to see if it works. Maybe you used some characters in Name that is not acceptable.

Thanks GadgetGuy for your response.

I have tried to put in "name" section entry like: "POP3" and "gmail" but both of them give the same result. It won't bring me to the next step (step 5/5), it just stop in that screen (step 4/5). confused.gif

At 4/5 page, there has 2 things to be added.

Account Type: (Please put POP3)

Name: (What ever u like, as long as that name didn't exist on your ppc)

Hi there.. I have gmail set up on my I780, with WM6/Outlook..

When I send/recieve, I recieve ALL the messages.. Including my SENT items..
How do I stop it from downloading my sent items in the sent folder of gmail?

Although it may not be a problem now, because, that was when I first downloaded all the messages.. And If I only use my I780 and my desktop/Outlook, to send emails, then Im gathering it wont pick up thouse sent items??

Thanks

Hi there

I got a queestion here.

After recent hard reset, setup gmail successfully but noted a difference. Previously downloaded messages in the inbox (on WM device) are deleted whenever I do a Send/Receive. Any idea what settings are possible to overcome this?

Device Info
TyTnII, WM6.0
Gmail POP access granted with "keep on server settings"
WM6.0 with "keep on server" for deleted items
Sync via Wifi only.

Many thanks!
