seem like there revamp the download page, now got additional "Download ROM Code". But I seem can't download the ROM, it just load and then stop nothing happen.

Mar 23 2006, 06:23 PM
looking at the numbers on the download file description, it is the same as those on my current dopod 818.
cheongseeker
Mar 23 2006, 06:37 PM
Ya, I had downloaded it and the file name is
(WWE)UNI_DopodAsia_11369_183_10402_ship
I would guess it si 1.13.69 WWE which is what I'm already having on my dopod 900.
I'm also guess the 10402 is referring to Radio 1.04.02. However, have no idea what the 183 stands for.

A bit funny is that, they create a new page called 'Download ROM Code' which contains the same file as in their 'Download Driver' page. All are shipment rom.

Its official. This is only the SHIPMENT ROM, the same one that they shipped with our devices.

well, look on the bright side of things.
If you messed up your device till the stage that you need to flash to the factory ROM, you don't have to visit the service center.

Hi O2mini_noob,
I was referring to my previous reply (about 4-5 posts ealier).
I also posted a new one with a subject "new ROM update ......."
Please have a look at it.
This new ROM (on Imate club, not on Dopod) is with a new comm manager and AKU2.
I have not tested it myself, but I heard some have.
I will try it this Saturday and will let you know my trial.

Hi rivaldo,
Yes, you are right.
Imate ROM is a bit different from Dopod ROM.
But both can be used for HTC Propet devices. (with some modification

)
What I try to do is to update my Dopod 818 Pro with Imate ROM.

I think the confusion was created because this is a Dopod ROM thread
They are not the same and just be aware that we're not allowed to discuss cross-flashing in this forum.

push email would be more interesting to companies and big corporations. this would enable their people to receiving emails without much intervention from their corporate exchange mail servers. this feature is aimed squarely at blackberry's market. and RIM, which is the company behind blackberry, is in danger of closing shop due to some copyright issue, will only play right into windows mobile's hands. so many people are hoping aku2 will some out soon so that they can start planning it as a replacement for blackberry service.

RIM patent dispute has already been resolved with them agreeing to pay the patent owners a big chunck of change, I think it was 600mill USD.
But I still fully expect Softie to roll over the berries and make grape juice eventually, like kinda how they did with Netscape. I've got nieces and nephews that never even heard of Netscape!

RIM has already agreed to a settlement, and the agreement will grant them rights to continue with the Blackberry service.

It's the shipment version of the ROM that is out. The new ROM is due out in April. Somehow along the way, lines got crossed and we mistook the I-Mate JasJar ROM as the D900...hence the confusion generated in this thread.
