Did a bit of experimentation last night involving countless hard resets and tweaking with settings and I think I may have found what "causes" some Atoms not to be able to perform the FM radio record function. Some users (myself included) had unable to record FM radio - the Atom would appear to complete the recording but no .wav file is saved onto the target folder.
My observation is that, upon hard reset, the FM recording function on my Atom does work and the .wav file will be correctly saved. It is only when the WM text size is changed (either at the Auto Configuration stage after hard reset, or through Settings>System>Screen>Text Size) that the FM record function ceases to operate and save the .wav file. Once the text size is changed, reverting to original afterwards will not bring back the FM record function.
I am not sure why this is at all, but this has been proven a few times over on my Atom. Can the users out there who cannot perform FM record confirm that they have at some point in time changed the font size?
Moving on the solution, I have been in touch with O2 for a while over this issue and will bring this to their intention. In the meantime, can anyone with more knowledge of the Atom offer some possible solutions as to how text size may be increased without compromising FM record? Registry tweaks perhaps? 3rd party applications?
cheers!
