Found out a undocumented key combination that will lock the keyboard in number/symbol mode, just press the <dot> key at the lower left coner twice follows by the <caps lock> key.

Use the same combination to turn it off.

Don't get it.

Oop! I didn't notice that the keys are not displayed in some browsers, shouldn't have use characters that conflict with HTML formatting...

The combination should be - press the 'dot' key at the lower left coner twice follows by the 'Caps Lock' key, :)

If you are using a mini, you don't have a keybroad so you won't see the different. As jShun has indictaed, it is for Dopod 838.

Cheers

It's the big red dot at the lower left coner, below the Shift/Cap key, the key that temporary switch the keyboard to symbol input.

Anyone knows what is the name of that key?

hi Smartboy4,

838 refers to the Dopod 838, which is the HTC Wizard...its a Phone Edition device model...
zonkgirl
yeah thought it was about number locking the device.

for dopod 838, you can also press the CAP button 2x to change the typing to be all in uppercase.

I have tried juse press <dot> key twice, and it will lock in number/symbol mode. don't need the <caps lock>.
