Regarding Chinese Language Support on Pocket PC...

The 2 most popular Chinese softwares are CE Star & Monster Chinese.

CE Star is a shareware, but not time-limited. The shareware limitation is on the input methods. The Std Edition does not include Penpower, a stroke-based input method (something like Transcriber). If you only need viewing support and do not need chinese input, you can continue using CE Star unregistered since it will not expire.

Monster Chinese is also a shareware and has a time limited trial version. There is also a Monster SIP for the input methods.

Other Chinese softwares include Pocket Knife and Effy Chinese. Another less known Chinese Input method around is PlumSIP.

i think i m dumb sia...i don't know how to install all these programs...after i download to my pc den i save it to my memory card from a card reader...when i open the file in my dopod it says it is a an invalid pocket pc file...

Any useful applications particularly for Phone Edition that I missed out? More recommendations/links please?

Hi, can someone guide me should i download "PPC" software or "Smartphone" software for my Dopod 818 pro?

Dopod 818 Pro is running on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition, so you should be using Pocket PC software rather than Smartphone software. Smartphone here means devices running on Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition, which is those that do not have touch screens.

They are usually called PIM utilities. There are some recommendations in the first page of this thread. Among them, Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion are the most popular ones.

I did a hard reset recently when I noticed that my MMS is not working. I lost my SMS, MMS, etc. I also lost a lost of software and hence I have to reinstalled all my software and also its registration keys.

The reason why I lost my SMS and MMS could be because I choose not to sync my mails via ActiveSync. If I choose to sync my mail, I should be able to kept a copy of my MMS and SMS. Right? Also, I want to sync my MMS and SMS but not my Inbox emails. Anyway to do this?

Also, what software do you recommended that I used so that I can recreate a backup of my whole phone, including software and SMS and MMS? I can then choose to reload everything from the backup copy and everything will work the same way before. I can then use this software to backup my whole phone periodically. Please recommend any freeware or paid software?

By the way, what is the use for the file PIM found in the phone? I thought this can be also used to reload the phone. What does it reload? Does it reload everything, including all the software, MMS and SMS?

Just wonder if there is any freeware for expense recorder?

I brought a i.tech Blueband R (Bluetooth Stereo Headset). It supports both A2DP and AVRCP.

Any idea on how to get A2DP and AVRCP to work on my Dopod 838 Pro? Also, does AVRCP works on Dopod 838 Pro? If it does not, can it work later by installing some patches or drivers on it, since this is most properly a software issue?

Also, any idea on how to get the i.tech Blueband R (Bluetooth Stereo Headset) to work with my laptop? My Bluetooth dongle do not support A2DP and AVRCP. Can I just install some patches or drivers on it to make it works? Or do i need to buy a new Bluetooth dongle that comes with A2DP and AVRCP?

Hi, can anyone recommend a free spainish dictionary for me? those that i can type in english and translate to spainish, or even spainish to english for me? even better is if it can even pronouce the word. I have look at the 1st page already but i don't know which 1 is good.

You can try Lingvosoft's dictionaries. Many of their dictionaries include translation in both directions and have voice feature.

I have been trying to download the "Remover" software from Freeppc website but apparently there is an error msg appearing after I clicked "download" icon. "Error: 403 Forbidden". Anyone has got the link

The software is no longer available. It has been replaced by SK Tools, which is a commercial software.

so is there any other software that has similar functions as Remover? I heard that over time the registry will be choked up with unnecessary things thus need some software to get rid of it?

Thanks Vicott - gotta question about installing programs to memory card - just say you want have 2 memory cards does that mean u need to install them twice on both cards - or can i just copy the relevant folders from the main card to the backup...i could give it a try i guess no harm...

As long as you are using the same card slot (which will show up as same folder name in the PPC), all you need is to copy/paste the files. You do not need to re-install when switching/migrating to another Storage Card.

is there a freeware listing of freewares that can be used in a 240 by 240 screen? cos i currently using a 6965 and heard that some program don't suppot sq screen or the program's "bottom" will be cut off.

i have the same problem when i port my sd card software used to be on ETEN for my new 6965 and the i cant see the whole screen. any help?

Well, not all applications are compatible with the square screen. The best you can do is to use Nyditot Virtual Display and tweak the screen resolution to 320x320.
