Is there a new batch of XphoneII that does not allow hard resets?
I bought this phone just last saturday.
Tried all the methods this forum suggested.
Searched and scrutinized every single thread.
Yet i still can't do the hard reset?

Tried holding the 2 soft keys (below LCD) and press power on button.
Held it for 2 secs. Nothing.

Tried again. Held it for 5 secs. Nothing.

Tried again. Held it for 10 secs. Nothing.

Tried again. Held it till it completed booting up. Still nothing.

Is there something wrong?

btw, mine does not have the clearstorage.exe

Thanks for all advise. grin.gif

Hold 2 soft keys, then press power button and release. Might take a few tries to get the hang of it, heh.

No it does not work.
I had tried it many many times already.

I even asked my friend who uses an xphone II and has tried hard reset before.

Still does not work.

I'm using Dopod565 (HTC Typhoon) now, previously when I wanted to hard reset and re-install everything from scratch, same like you I tried many many time also not able to hard reset the phone, the hard reset method is exactly the same as XPhone2 (HTC Feeler), some say that if by holding left+right soft key don't work, try left+right+camera key method, it also don't work for me, try until I gave up liao ...
Two weeks ago I decided to give hard reset another try, I was thinking previous unsuccessful might be because I didn't hold the left+right key really tight, so I try holding the phone in a way that I can 'comfortably' access left+right+power button and I finally manage to hard reset the phone!!

This is how I do:
I try holding the phone up-side down, use my left thumb holding the right soft key, left index finger press the left soft key, press the two button really hard and make sure there isn't any slight release of the button, while holding the two button, my right thumb press and hold the power button, release the power button once the splash screen appear (don't need to count how many seconds), do not release the left+right softkey yet until you see message to press '0' to return phone to factory setting or other key to quit.
I tried many many times and found that the key is in pressing and holding of the power button, you MUST relase the power button once you see the splash screen appear, this refer to Dopod splash screen (for your case will be O2 splash screen), not Windows Mobile splash screen. Brother give it another try, it should work.

I tried over the weekend and it didnt worked, so i send it in to svc ctr this morning, were told to collect it after 2 hrs, but received a msg to collect abt 1.2 hrs later....i tot wow, quite a good svc....

but it took me 1 hr sitting in the not so cold svc ctr lobby just to get back my phone, what a waste of time....

only consolidation is the customer svc officer is not too bad looking....

i tried
Power off the phone and unplug it from the computer.
1. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys.
2. Press and hold power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Release power button. Keep hold soft1 and soft2 keys.
3. Later, screen shoould show instructions to ask user to press '0' key to reset to factory default.
4. Press '0' within the timeout period, which is only several seconds only.
it worked to me at my xphone II, just tried 3 times.
