Microsoft is developing a new software called Mobile Media which essentially allows you to quickly and easily access your personal content – pictures, music, and videos – on your personal computer from your mobile phone. You cannot directly download the content from your PC to your mobile phone. The content you access from your PC is streamed to your phone in real-time. Pictures are streamed as a slideshow, while music and video are streamed to your phone’s Media Player. For pictures, individual small files are saved locally in a temporary storage area (similar to your browser) and you can also save individual small images to the local phone memory. With offline photo storage, your photos are also store in the cloud so you can access them from the mobile phone even your home PC is off. If you have a Windows Mobile device, you can take pictures and they will be automatically and transparently sent pictures to your PC. To use Mobile Media, you’ll need to download and install the client applications on both your Desktop PC and Mobile phone. You can download the clients
here.
