Just finished watching the Live Webcast from 8pm-8.33pm.

Very interesting stuff. Magnus Anderson, Senior Product Manager for the Xperia X1 explained the Panel "Desktop" design concept of the X1, basically it is a set of 9 active "Desktop" panels, some are customisable that makes the X1 unique. New panels can be downloaded from SE website, more and more such panels will be made available. He and another SE lady also answered questions fielded from all over the world by email, including one from Singapore. The question on whether the X1 will have WM7 upgrade received no answer from Magnus as he claimed that he is not able to divulge anything regarding the future products or plans of SE.
Magnus claims that the X1 has everything in it, a "blatant" error, as it obviously don't have multi-touch support like the iPhone. He said that the X1 has Flash and Java support but no TV out.
The keyboard and casing looks solid. The panels are lovely. It is heartening to know that SE has put a lot of care and attention on the X1. Strangely no one asked about the rumored fallout betwee S & E, may be such a question even if fielded has been censored.
Magnus also claimed that the X1 has a fast 528 Mhz processor which makes it a powerful device which again is plain fallacy as even the Samsung i780 which probably costs less than half the X1 has a faster 624 Mhz processor. So does Omnia which is 624 Mhz powered.
SE is using the Johnny X character to associate with the X1 to make it endearing for Westerners, but alas Asians like us can hardly identify with him. There will be six Johnny X episodes. I watched the first episode earlier.
