screen looks solid...

screen size not stated but comparing to the size of omnia, it should be as big or even bigger...

Now we have the best screen around in reasonably small size and thickness (unlike Dopod 900).
Would like to have a Dpad though. Sometimes, it is still much easier to navigate around with it.

Wah! This looks so tempting! The resolution and screen size is so gd!!

The iPhone is an oversized toy and now Samsung and HTC are following. The Diamond was heading in the right direction.

IMO throw a VGA screen, faster processor, bigger battery and non-proprietry head phone jack on the Diamond and you have the perfect phone (They can add a few mm to the width for the battery and save the rest of the room dropping the gimmick of the radio)

but i guess they always add something and remove something so all the device wont be perfect, that's how they make $$

If you check out the Modaco site or the Sizeasy site... it is supposedly the same size as iPhone... just a tad thicker, that's all

actually from the size comparison chart, the difference is really insignificant, if there's any.

I gues with a big screen, and WVGA, it makes up for the lack of d-pad and keyboard which is essential if you are dealing with small screen (your finger occupy 1/4 of the screen!) or 'vanilla' Windows Mobile interface.

I've played with the O2 Flame before ... 3.5" screen estate

I think it's just about the right size with the touchscreen keyboard ... still manageable

HTC Touch HD a 480 x 600 screen wonder from HTC

Hi Echelon, that's a typo. I was wondering what's the improvement was until I saw that it's a 480 x 800 WVGA screen. That's pretty sweet, considering that the HTC Touch HD has the same form factor as the iPhone, which already sports a relatively sharp 320 x 480 screen.

After stressing out my HTC TyTN II at 800 x 480 (using a Celio Redfly), I'd say that HTC will need to make sure that build some solid video performances to work at those high resolutions. Also, unless that have some QVGA/VGA compatibility mode, it'll be a while before many of the existing Window Mobile applications can run properly at 800 x 480.

Actually ... if HTC Omni is still in the HTC roadmap... the specs is much better than this Touch HD (Blackstone)

is Omni now a vaporware?

Thanks Bungee for the heads up.

Does anyone knows if, when WM7 comes out, can it be installed on the pre-WM7 devices?

The real question is which manufacturer will be providing the upgrades rather than whether it is possible.
Requiem
I sure hope they do, otherwise buying such an expensive phone like this, and with a 3.8" screen would be quite pointless if we are stuck with WM6.1 for life.
