This media browser called Kinoma Play is power stuff! Just tried it on my obsolete iPAQ 6818 and I am blown away. You should also give it a shot too!

The cab file can be downloaded from here http://kinoma.com/freeplay/download/ .
Just tap on the cab to install. Start the application and it will ask you to key in your email address for activation. An activation email will be sent to your email address. Just click on the activation link in the email while your WM device is online and the Kinoma server will activate your Kinoma Player for you and you are set.

It is a power media browser - it will start to browse and look for every media files, music and videos in your device and start to sort them out in its listings automatically. There is a built in media player and you can start to play your videos & mp3s with it.

The online media browser is also very competent. It can search and stream Youtube videos almost effortlessly, also support Live365 Internet Radio, Orb and Shoutcast streaming, Flickr photo online and many others. I have never seen a media browser/player for WM that has that many functions and features.

See screenshots I took from my iPAQ 6818.

It's unfortunate it doesn't work with VGA screen PDAs like Diamond...

Discovered that the Media Player on Kinoma Play is finger gesture friendly. When you slide your finger on this screen (shown below) vertically downwards, the volume adjustment scales will appear and you can lower or up the volume using touch to select. When you slide your finger right to left you can forward to next song selection, if you slide finger left to right you can reverse backward one song. Very nice gesture control on touch screen.

Can it manage podcast and sync with desktop kinda like pocket tunes?

This is something I don't like. Can it be set such that only certain folders are read?

From the website :

Bring your iTunes music library with you — including iTunes Plus DRM-free music. You can even export your iTunes podcast list to Kinoma Play and then stream your podcasts directly...no PC-sync neccessary!

Yes you can, it is also finger friendly. Just touch "My Media Files"-->"Storage Card"--->select the folder grin.gif

The Youtube streaming is good. Kit Chan singing "Home" right on my WM Phone on demand. grin.gif

Kinoma player is really very good. I love it touch friendly operations which is well implemented throughout the player. Coupled with its great features this is one hack of a media player. Highly recommended by Symphon-saurus. grin.gif

A new version that can be set NOT to do the irritating autoscan for media files before starting has been released, get your copy here

You can update by clicking on the 'update' button within the program itself, without going through the pc. Now instead it scans your files when you open My Media Files.

I am in complete agreement with your effusive comments about this program, arguably the best and most complete multimedia player ever, except that you cannot download your favourite files for keep. It works perfectly with WM 6 and WM 6.1 device.
