if you are using Vista, then you would realised that when your establish an activesync with your WM phones, the image of your phone may/may not appear on the WMDC screen.

If it doesn't appear, it means that the phone image file does not exist in your WM phone, and all you need to do is to create a 256x256 icon file and place it under \Windows directory

you will need to remove the phone in your Vista desktop device manager (under portable device) so that when it re-establish subsequently it will re-load the driver which include the image file.
