Looking to buy bluetooth stereo headphones.

Important is weight, clarity and batt life cos intend to use for running/cycling so must have decent fit. Was considering the S9 from motorola, SBH170 from Samsung and also nokia headphones. Reviews so far not fantastic for the samsungs...

Budget hopefully <S$120
Would appreciate any bro's recommendations for models/prices/where to buy etc

hi I have the same question too. But I have a different requirement and budget.

You could google the Sony Model on my post. this is a copy of my post from HWZ forums. I found some selling new at <120SGD

But from the looks of it I guess try the S9 as I read some good reviews while googling. It is light weight and designed for sport activities.

I am also browsing for Bluetooth headphones.

But alas.. I was faced with three (3) major requirements
1) BUDGET - I can only go up to 200 SGD anything higher I would jumpship and buy High-end BOSE or SHURE headphones (even wired ones).

2) I have a Creative Zen player, a PSP, laptop, and a i780. so even though I don't plan to pair everything at the same time,. I need to have an option to use the BT headset on any of them for convinience sake. Imagine bringing two headphone sets one wired and one BT. =p
- As the Zen and PSP both don't have BT. I was hoping that the the headset had a Dongle included for the 200 SGD limit

3)Must have good Bass at least as I tend to listen R&B and Hip-hop music alot aside from my Alternative cravings

With those requirements I did some googling. Found 4 items I listed them down in order of preference. please note I don't own any as I am planning to buy one myself. Cannot vouch for comfort issue and I'm basing soley on price, batt life and compatibility. Only wish I could actually try them out to test sound and comfort. MOTO S9 were also top of the results but I really like MUFF types over in ears. I have a creative EP630 which is enough for my in-ear (please note I am accustomed to BASS from creatives and philips.)

1) Philips SHB6102
-Comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack dongle. =)
-Been using philips before so bass range is ok for me and I am accustomed with its acoustics
-spec wise has a respectable working time of 10-12 hours streaming and talk.
-D*MM hard to find only place you can buy is in UK and is currently out-of-stock but may be available in a week after inquiring from customer support .
-estimated cost with shipping around 180-220+ SGD (on my 200 limit already *sigh*)

Note: If you don't need dongles try the SHB6100 same headphone but no dongle packaged (cost cheaper since available in US via Vshop. estimated cost 130-180 SGD with shipping). NOTE philips dongles CANNOT be bought separately.

2)i.tech BlueBand SPORT + i.Tech BlueCON 35 II
-Haven't use I.tech products yet. But the blueband R had mixed reviews. from what I've read but it seems to be mostly positive.
-Blueband SPORT was just released. No comprehensive reviews available. This product is "at own risk" category
-Cost Cheap! Packaged together can get 140-160 SGD for both. available localy
-The design is LOUD (RED-none symetric-different colored plates). But my PSP and i780 are RED so for me not a deal breaker.
-Package contains a pouch for the foldable headphones. =)
-POOR battery life upto 7hours streaming time. But some reviewers report can run longer than specified. (if not for these would have bought without thinking).

3)Jabra BT620s + Jabra A120s
-A bit on the expensive side but found special Deals (estimated cost with shipping 150-200 SGD). planing to buy from a UK store if I go with these. Just google please.
-Mixed reviews but I believe Jabra is very stable brand and I found my friend using jabra earpieces recommending them to me.
-Design is plain (which I like).
-Battery life an amazing 16 hours (spec wise)
-since both dongle and headphone Jabra. no compatibility issues googled.
-Some concerns on hurting ears after using a longtime from reviews. And heavy in weight. But users report Bass is decent. =)

4)Sony DR-BT21G (+ sony TMR-BT10)
-Design looks cool.
-fairly priced at 80-120 used. 150-200 SGD new fpr headphones Only
-NO DONGLE packaged(waaaah). Actually there is a Sony TMR-BT10 dongle but priced at 100-120SGD. Grrr!!!
-I like the simple design.
-Again mixed reviews but some points very light in eight compared to 620s and Moto 820. But I am skeptical because some report bass quality wasn't that good. Bass is a major selling point for me.
-just listed bause it looked great and seems to be available localy.

Conclusion:
Since the philips one is still out of reach. I am leaning to buy the I.tech blueband and be an actual 1st reviewer. I just hope it works longer than the 7hrs and the bass part is true. Or else you would see a WTS posting next week. I listed the Jabra and Sony as they seem to pop up alot on searches. =)

Just an update: I FOUND a Philips SHB6102 on Far East Plaza yesterday after looking for the BlueBand and dongle! Wohoo! And I say it looks great and quite cool. I tried paring and no poblems encountered. Sound is great (this is a relative notion though. As always you have to try yourself) as I still get the low bass from philips headphones. Just the way I like it. Fit is comfortable for my large head and was even ok for my Fiancee who tried it on too.

For calls no problems syncing with i780. The nice thing is that the SHB6102 uses "Philips Switchstream". Where I listen to my music from Zen via dongle if I receive a call a ring comes in and just answer using headphone button. Tried and tested! Sound quality was clear from the spekers but The mic was a bit sensitive to wwind I had to cup my hand while walking along orchard.

In terms of the dongle was easy to setup on my Zen. Just plug it in (I paired the dongle right after charging them) to the 3.5mm jack wa la. Sounds were clear even when the Zen was in my pocket w/ the dongle. As always for Bluetooth if you move away from the dongle (i.e. on a table) Line of sight is a issue how far you can go. Unobstructed I reached 4-5 meters from the table just before sound degrades. but closing a door in between. the singnal fades ( sound weakens but still connected). I unplug the dongle still paired with the headset and plugged it in to the PSP same results too.

In terms of charging. The supplied charger has a dual head/plug charging both the dongle and headset at the same time. Charger is comparable with a nokia charger. plugs are proprietary so no chance of using a PC to charge. In terms of charging devices. It is something I have to live with If you want Great music, Great mobile console. I have a big built and I seldom go out without my bag with PSP and zen inside. =)

Note: the SHB 6102 is not actually PORTABLE as it is non-foldable. But the headset is pettite and quite light (sorry weight was not specified on the box (so this is subjective) I bought a two dollar daiso pouch for storage and it just fits.

I will continue testing the charge duration as I haven't actually done my Burn-in yet. But to say I am really happy. =)

Thanks for fine review. Can kindly post a pic or 2? How much is it?
jojo_b2
I will try to get some pics later as I work during the day. In any case, I haven't drained my headphones yet due to the fact I was busy this sunday. But i will post an update once I get things sorted.

The Philips SHB6102 was really a chance find. try googling and you would only hit UK sites for this model. But I manage to find only ONE unit in Far East plaza and after haggling got it for only 135SGD. For my budget it was quite cheap. I did some snooping around and found another unit at Lucky plaza. but they were selling it for an Arm and a Leg (189SGD). With that in mind I am realy happy.

I am buying another pair of BT headphones for my brother but since his Bday is in Sept really no hurries. if I find another SHB6102 at the price I bought it. This will be my gift. But if not I am leaning for a BlueBand sport Which you can buy 140-160 SGD as a bundle with a I.tech Dongle. I am still trying to get some reviews until Sept.
