Hi guys,

I've finally came up with a piece of software that will enable you to view up to 6 calendar events on one page. This software was done to counter the lack of calendar events shown on the first page of TouchFlo3D.

Here's a screenshot:

The design has been matched to the Diamond's and is specifically coded for VGA devices only. It's been tested on the Diamond, of course grin.gif

The Exit button does not close the app, but it minimises it. It's recommended to leave the software running in the background, so as to have quick access the next time you invoke it. The page will refresh each time you view it, so you're assured of latest appointments upfront.

Like I mentioned above, this app takes quite a while to load (abt 5secs++) if run fresh. It's my first PPC coding attempt, so perhaps it's not optimised yet wink.gif

You can download the app below. Simple installation instructions are included.
Lastly, it's a freeware grin.gif ..and do post your comments. Mods, if interested, can move this over to the software section.

Cheers!

Hey, MasK, thanks for the application! However, I've encountered some problems downloading the zip file. Could you re-upload it again?

Thanks.
vicott
For those who are using FIrefox, right click the link and use "Save link as". Also make sure you type the file extension when saving.

I still couldn't do it using FireFox, so I've downloaded using IE instead.

Thanks for the help, vicott. :)

Thanks bro.
I'm working on improvements slowly... like a function to show tasks and also in a smaller footprint.

Thanks for the post.

I have a question. Does this application work along with the TouchFLO3D? Meaning, just touch on the built-in calendar at the Home Page will fire this application?

If not, it will defeat the purpose of using TouchFLO3D...

Well, im afraid not. There might be some registry edits that will fire up quickCal instead of the main calendar from TF3D. Need some time to scan tru that.

Updates: QuickCal v1.2

Fixes/improvements:
>Smaller filesize ~300kb
>Added Tasks page to show incomplete tasks
>Does not show "done" appointments from today
>Added quick menu to access pocketOutlook Calendar/Tasks
>Design change, to suit TF3D
>All in a *.cab installation package

Bugs/Glitches
>Uses up about 2MB+ memory while running
>Skips some full-day appointments

As for the problems stated above, I need you guys to evaluate for me. There were some full-day appointments that the app missed. These are really old recurring ones. When I create a new similar appointment, it works. I have no idea about this behavior, but I'm trying to find out. wacko.gif

As for the 2MB memory usage in the background, I'll need an expert on this. Don't know how to reduce this. It doesn't bother me though.

Here are the screens:

Slightly out of topic, how do you have those icons at the top left hand corner of the screen?

Thanks for the application; have tried it and its looking good.

Using a task manager "WKtask"
Another one "Magic Button" works in a similar manner too :)

How about adding sorting options for tasks, e.g. sort by date or priority or alphabetical? Currently, the sorting is by alphabetical, and it's not very useful if my most urgent task starts with the last few alphabets.

Oh...btw, the "exit" softkey only minimises the application? ARe you using "WM_CANCEL" instead of "WM_CLOSE" command?

Anyway, I love the graphics and simplicity. Looking forward to the improvements. grin.gif

does it work on Touch Pro?

going to test it now...
zenkinz
does it flip when you switch from today to tomorrow's agenda?

hopefully you can integrate this into the TouchFlo 3D menu...
vicott
It's just a simple listing of appointments/tasks. Anyway, TouchFLO 3D development requires Lua, which is a language not many are familiar with. Furthermore, the developers who have played around with it mentioned some limitations/difficulties. That's why the pace at which custom tabs are developed isn't very fast.
